Welcome Friday at Root 44.

Here I will show you a new local market called Root 44 in South Africa.

Now that's a real tractor up there on the signboard.

I have 11 photos in here and will call this Part 1. As I will show you Part 2, next Friday in #marketfriday. I have too many photos for one post and it was an amazing visit in nature.
By now I hope that you have gathered that this is a post in Market Friday owned by that lovely Lady @dswigle.
So without further ado, come and have a look.

Drinks galore on sale here.

There were a few hundred people at the market and I will show you more in my next post.

A new way to sell fresh farm produce and these fancy food markets are real winners. I had a delicious Eisbein with Sauerkraut and German mustard and my forefathers must have been smiling. Marian had some Irish concoctions and we didn't hang around for long inside the market as the crowds continued to grow and Mother nature was winking at me outside.

So in the post next Friday I will show you more of the market and also the surrounding nature beauty. After we left the market, we traveled up to another farm nestled very close to a mountain and there were also some wonderful landscape views on that farm
So until next Friday I bid all of you Adios.

And That's All Friends.

That bar towards the end looked pretty cool. How about naming your place Precious Nuts?! That one made me laugh. "7th Psychopath Coffee" .. that must be some strong stuff! 😝

Oh yeah and a very popular bar as when we left there were a queue of people waiting to order.
Hahaha, no our place is called "Squirrel Cottage".
Strong stuff indeed and with my sensitive system not to touch !LOLZ

Cape region has put old railway stations, warehouses or barns to good use in farmers markets. Each one you have visited looks more inviting, food looks delicious one would have to be cautious or spend a whole months salary in there!

They certainly have got it right now, as the places are packed with visitors Lady Joan.
There's even space for tourist buses and they can order food that are made in their own countries.

A bit confusing with regards to the food as there is so much to pick from. The cheap prices are luring souls to open their wallets.

I love the smell on such farmers markets and to see the fresh food they offer, just like in your photos. I think it just tastes better than when you buy it in a store.

Good evening Hannes,

Even if one had a big lunch somewhere else before coming into the place, the smells will entice one to have another lunch 🤣 !LOLZ

Fresh is always better as it beats the unfrozen foods sold in the big stores 😉

Cheers and thanks.

A sizzling hot steak with the juices dripping from it will drive any man crazy my friend.
Spaghetti is not even a poor cousin of a steak and I am so sad for you 🤣 !LOLZ

Btw. I have already greeted 😉

Cheers and thanks.

You have to stop that now, Zac, because compared to our today's dinner the spaghetti would be a first class menu ... you're making me so hungry for a steak 😋

I have also greeted just before 🤣 !LOLZ

Only teasing your stomach my friend as I haven't had a juicy steak in years and spaghetti is a very poor cousin compared to steak 😉

Ah, so you are also ageing as I thought that it was only me that gets scrambled with the greetings 🤣 !LOLZ
Cheers and thanks.

I think since our daughter is vegetarian we also haven't had a steak, but I do love spaghetti a lot 😋

Nope, you're not the only one who gets older and forgetful 😂 !LOLZ

Parmesan cheese is what I like on spaghetti, as it gives a special flavor 😉

Hahaha, let me tell you that it get's much worse my friend. I search all over for my glasses until Marian tells me that they are on my face 🤣 !LOLZ

Cheers and thanks.

I don't like parmesan on the spaghetti, and if you should ever get the chance to eat my spaghetti, you will not need it neither 😋

Believe me, Zac, I also have searched my glasses and wondered why I see clear ... they were on my nose, and I was searching for my keys ... with the keys in my hand 😅 !LOLZ

Oh! So now you tell me that you are a spaghetti champion?
So maybe send me your recipe so that I can test the stuff, as it sounds very interesting.

I think that they call it mental impairment and it's just a fancy word for old age 🤣 !LOLZ

Cheers and thanks.

Oh, it's just an ordinary Italian recipe ... minced beef, tomatoes, herbs and some more ingredients and a lot of red wine, and let it cooking for quite a few hours 😋

Yep, we are just getting old, my friend 🤣 !LOLZ

I had an aunt that loved to make a huge pot of soup. Did I tell you that now I never eat soup.
She would leave the pot on the stove and warm it up and every day she would add a handful of carrots or some other vegetables to the pot.
It had a most horrible taste, but that was all that we had to eat every day.

Cheers and thanks.

No, I don't think you have told me that and I can imagine that the soup must have tasted delicious ... in the begining maybe 😂 !LOLZ

Here by day 7 that soup was water my friend. A thick bland taste that one could only slurp like a elephant, but even an elephant would not eat that soup.
So now you know why I don't eat soup 🤣 !LOLZ

Cheers and thanks.

What a great place! Psycho Coffee! I'm in! How can you not want one? I love these places, such a variety of all things delicious! Cheese heaven and fudge galore! Is this close to you? When I cannot find you, I will know just where you went!

Happy #MarketFriday to you! This was a great post! Thank you for being a part of #MarketFriday! I cannot tell you how pleased I am to see so many participating every week. I have learned so much about the different cultures of the world, especially the small things that go unnoticed except by those looking for it. Life is interesting, wherever you are, whatever you are doing.

#MarketFriday began as a way to reach out across the globe and learn about different cultures through their markets, especially local markets and farmers markets and eventually branching out and evolving over time from straight shopping to a cultural affair as it highlights how we differ and then again, how much we are alike. We have become a melting pot of culture, but, it is still the Rituals, Festivals, food, architecture, even your language/languages that separate us... Along with the fact of what is these things are normal for us. There are unwritten rules that rule our social behaviors. I see this as allowing for increased tolerance between cultures and nations, and opportunities to come together on an even playing ground. A strong culture can be beneficial to a country as it promotes unity, especially during a crisis, peaceful debate, and open dialogue. I have learned so much about all of you and it has been an amazing experience. I can only hope that learning about each other can help us work together for a peaceful world.

Fridays are all about the #MarketFriday Challenge! Looking to take part in it? Here is how:

Thank you and I am already Psycho Lady Denise, so that coffee might send me into orbit :)
About 20 kilometers away from us so no, it not far away from us.
You will always find me on one of the farms around here, or during work time at one of the charities.

Thank you and yes it is a great place to be on a weekend day.
Most of the stall owners work during the week, so the market is only open on weekends.
