A Walk In The Rain
I had the pleasure earlier today to listen to @dibblers.dabs expound upon this community and the future logistics surround the tokens to come on the weekly #pimp meeting and thought I would join the community and get back into doing some creative writing.
A Walk In The Rain
Vans have always been a ludicrous choice to wear when walking when there is a potential for rain and today is the perfect exemplification for why. They are as water resistant as a screen door and the biting cold of the wind and pouring rain caused John's toes to become numb just a few minutes into his stroll. There was no determined destination for this walk, no ending point to reach. John only knew that the cold rain would cool the fire burning on his face from the swelling multitude of emotions that were emerging and retreating from the front of his mind to the depths of his soul. He knew the rain would hide his tormented tears and they could freely flow in response to that fragile healing process of letting go of a uncontrollable situation and just sludging through the process of accepting it and moving forward one lumbering step at a time.
He paused on his non-journey to peer up and try to get his current bearings in the city. Walking during the storm is the only time he felt peace in this wretched metropolis, the only time he didn't feel like he was stuffed into a suit two sizes two small embracing him so tightly that even the act of breathing was an exasperating chore. As he gazed at his surroundings his breath expelled hot and rapid revealing plumes as he exhaled a stark representation of the pound of pain he was able to release with each labored breath. Wisps of steam spun off his twisted brow and saturated hair like fevered dirt devils dancing across the barren horizon. He was spent, physically, emotionally, and spiritually, yet the rain would not abate....it would not relent.....it would not yield. And so, with his head down once again, he shuffled on to that place that was not yet known to him, the end of this stroll to release the pain. He only hoped he would recognize the destination when he arrived there.

I think I find peace walking in the rain as well but that's if it doesn't come with a storm that'll blow me away. Hahaha. Lovely writing
