Reflections || 2022 In A Nutshell

(Edited)

I wonder if it'll be cliche to say that this year has been pretty rough for me, when in truth, if something doesn't go as planned, we humans tend to write off everything associated with the plan.

I started out this year without much of a direction, to be honest. I thought I was going to achieve some things, like bagging my bachelor's degree in mechatronics engineering, acquiring a new skill, starting a full-time remote job, and maybe getting married. But nahh...the didn't happen. The last one is just me being a clown.

Well, from the tone of this article, you already know that this author does not in any way feel "accomplished" this new year. But is that really the case? They'd like to believe that nothing extraordinary happened to them this year, but isn't the author simply choosing to see the glass as half-empty?

When I do think about it and realize that there are actually 12 months in one year, and each of them has just about 30 days, there are surely things I have achieved and am proud of in this year 2022.

Reflections, reflections...

My first achievement is actually making it this far. Yes, I am well aware that this is entirely due to grace rather than my own efforts. I've lost friends of my own over the years. And so, it is not a small feat.

Subconsciously, I must have made it a goal to make it to 2023, even if I did not say it out loud. I really don't think there are many people who would have wished to leave in 2022.

Joining Hive... Oh, yes. Joining Hive is one of my achievements this year. I didn't see it coming; I didn't know Hive before, and I had never imagined it being an integral part of my life. And because of it, many other things have fallen into place for me. For one, I learned to write.

I should put it out there that writing physically with a pen is not my favorite thing to do. On the other hand, digital writing is something I have come to love.

IMG_20221129_153810.jpg

Surely, the enthusiasm started out with the idea of being incentivized as I learned on the go. That's how many of us got here in the first place...XD. But it steadily grew into something much deeper for me. I learned to expressively journal my thoughts, opinions, and observations. And I got better at it, so much so that I can look back and smile that I picked it up.

Also, because of Hive and my involvement with the digital space, I was spurred into learning to actually use my PC to a good degree of productivity. Heck, I learned how to type, and I got pretty fast, really quickly. I am so glad that I actually did learn it.

Making new good friends is another thing. I have met really amazing people this year and even bonded really well with most of them; it is surreal. Should I begin to name them all, I wouldn't let you go so early.

I knew I needed more good people around me, and it's amazing to see that even without much thought, I crossed paths with them and got our lives intricately intertwined—to a reasonable degree.

I actually got to start making music this year. It's a big feat for me because that leap took centuries to happen. I am not even where I could be in music, but hey, I started anyway. It's all part of a big conglomerate of happenings called "process," and I trust in it.

It's been a pretty interesting year overall. I say that because I saw what people call "lows." But here I am now, with another chance to do more and better. The New Year is here, and I have a couple of things I want to be intentional about. That is, I intend to achieve much greater things in the future.

By Grace, I'll be here the entire time to journal them.

Look, for example...I wouldn't have met people like you too if I had not joined Hive. The possibilities are vast with being in Hive.

Learning typing with my 10 fingers (9, actually) has been one of the most liberating things of the year for me.

I also cannot do without my PC

This new year, I'm optimistic about meeting new people with brilliant minds. And one big step I have taken towards that is joining the City Of Neoxian. I'm looking long-term and working towards sticking for long.

Next year is going to be massive for me. I don't want to know how. I'm trusting the new year would bring good tidings for you as well, man.

Some things don't just go as planned but then, we don't have to be hard on ourselves. It's an opportunity for us to reflect and make amends where needed for a better result this coming year. I am also grateful for the kind of people I met this year, they have been pushing me to stretch myself and achieve something better...indeed, people are the shortcut to success.

The new year is here, and being deliberate about our goals will make much difference.

Hey Jay, I wish you more grace to do exploit come this new year 👍

This new year, I am coming out hot 🔥 I don't want to know how, but I am determined to become much better. I just had to be grateful for this year first to fully embrace greatness ahead.

You are one of the people I am grateful to have met this year. I know there are great things we'd do together.

Someone did see an half-filled glass because with all of the things that fell into place this year, I'll say, you had a good year.

Wait it out, you will bag the Bsc. Soon, get your remote job, plus everything else

and probably get married... Lol

I guess I actually did have a pretty good year. In hindsight, I could have been worse.

Let's see what happens by February. I should be done with my final exams by then. So bagging the BSc is coming hot.

Marriage is way far on my list, and it's not even soon. 😄 Thanks for caring.

Come next year, we would definitely achieve great things and this can happen when we are truly intentional about it. Also, no matter what happens, we should choose to see the glass half-full and not empty because it's so important.

Gratitude despite the odds is a great one and this will keep us going with God helping us to achieve all we have set out to achieve.

Next year will be awesome and amazing for everyone of us.

This 2023, I don't want to know, I am getting hotter. 🔥🔥
I'm really determined for this next year. And yes, I am very intentional about it this time. I first had to be grateful for this year.

Really, it was just when I finished this article that I saw in hindsight that I have indeed come a long way. It may not be what I would have hoped for but then again, I didn't have any plans initially, so it's a big leap. And special thanks to Hive for opening me up.

I'm glad you resonate well.

I also have plans too and I know something good will definitely arrive 😎😎😎

Hive indeed opened us up and we are ready 🎉

With how active you are on the platform it didn’t occur to me you joined this year. It says a lot about your will and dedication.

The year may not have gone as you planned but you’re probably glad to have achieved all this when you finished this article. We rarely know how much we’ve grown till we take the time to note everything down.

Hive’s a blessing and I pray and hope you achieve so much more this coming year.

Oh, I guess I owe that to @starstrings for his mentorship. He has taught me a whole lot more than I could have learned in such a short while.

This year may not have gone as I planned? I didn't even have any plans. And truly, it was just when I had finished this post that I realised that I had actually achieved feats this year. And I am grateful.

I'm looking to be bigger this year and I am working towards it. I trust you'd be bigger in the new year as well.
