The Calm Before The Storm Weekend
Phew!!! It's been a busy week and days for me, examinations and then seminar defence, so I have had a lot to do offline and got to much time to be here for long, because it is either I am reading or sleeping so that I can have strength and be relaxed for the day's exams but thank God, we are close to wrapping it up.
Last week, Saturday which happens to be the 28th of March, a few of my colleagues and I went to commemorate with a colleague of ours who lost her father to the cold hands of death when she least expected it but like they say, "Death is inevitable" so, while she was mourning, we had to be their to support her and make her not feel lonely irrespective of what life has done.
I learnt faster that family doesn't just mean people who I am related to by blood or from the same lineage, I have experienced and seen that family could be the people we meet on the road, in our workplace, in schools, at the market, or anyone.
The universe can decide to play a fast one on us and give us friends who we end up seeing as family in the most unsure or unserious places and lucky for me, I found my own family in the school.
Since it was a far distance occasion, we had planned to start it earlier but due to the habits and character of humans, you know we are different people with different backgrounds, culture, way of life, thought patterns, so, many people ended up coming late and delayed our moving earlier as planned but notwithstanding, we still got to the location.
After having that much fun, we were all sweating and looking disheveled and the heat that day was not helping matters. Our clothes we're sticking to our body and hairs sticking to our faces, the heat was doing justice to our skin, so we all decided to take a walk to the village stream in that vicinity, with the approval of the celebrant of course who directed us herself to where we can find the stream and there we had so much fun that we ever thought we would.
We also acted out some Indian movies like we always see them do in their movies but unfortunately, I was too tired to take pictures of those, so I do not have any pictures of those funny acting moments but they were fun and I enjoyed myself.
Fun fact: after all the fun that Saturday, on Monday we did our seminar defence and we were all shivering because we didn't know what to expect but we still came out smiling irrespective of everything.
