Burger with Sauce Recipe💛

Today I want to share with you a recipe that is one of the street flavors of Istanbul.

The name of this beautiful dish is Wet Hamburger.

Actually, it is not wet, of course, but because it is cooked with sauce, it is given such a name because of its moist structure.

It is a little different from the hamburgers we know. A striking flavor was obtained without using too many ingredients

There is only a patty in between. No hamburger products such as greens, tomatoes, pickles, cheese are used.

I guess the secret is in the sauce.

There are very few people who go to Taksim and don't eat this hamburger.
And one is not enough. Even if your stomach is full, you finish one hamburger in two bites and move on to the next one:)

There is a fact called street flavors and this does not change anywhere in the world.

Food sold on the street always tastes much better to me.
Whenever I pass by a food vendor, I want to buy and eat all the food:)

I haven't been to Istanbul for a while and I really missed this hamburger. It came to my mind and I wanted to try it at home.

It was very successful.

Ingredients;

400 grams of medium-fat ground beef
1 small onion
1 egg
2 tablespoons breadcrumbs
salt
Black Pepper
4 Hamburger Buns

For Sauce

1 tablespoon of tomato paste
1 tablespoon of butter
2 tablespoons ketchup
half a glass of water
1 clove of garlic
salt
black pepper

The meatballs are classic mom meatballs, so I didn't give any extra information.

Mix all the ingredients and leave it in the fridge for a while, that's all.

Pick egg-sized pieces from the cooked meatball mixture and cook them in a grill pan.

For the sauce, put the butter in a saucepan and melt it.

Add tomato paste to the oil and fry.

When the oil and tomato paste dissolve, add the ketchup.

Add some water to the thickened sauce, add salt and pepper and cook.

Now I'm going to explain the cooking technique of the hamburger;
I add a little bit of water to the bottom of a pan, this water will allow us to cook the buns in the steam.

We place greaseproof paper big enough to cover the pan. The greaseproof paper should be big so that no water touches the bread. and turn on the stove.

I spread the sauce I prepared on the bottom of the hamburger buns and put the buns in the pan.

I put the cooked meatballs on the bread.

I cover the bread and spread the sauce on the bread again.

I cover the pan with a lid and cook it over low heat for a while so that the bread absorbs the sauce with the help of steam.

And the bread absorbed the sauce and softened. This is what I wanted.

My hamburgers with gravy are ready to eat.

Wondering would they be still moist if the crust is more crispy baked?

The peculiarity of this burger is that the bun is moist. But if you want it to be crispier, you can just slather it with sauce and eat it. No need for steaming.

hahahahahaaa😄 Then I have a good idea. Steam the bottom part of the bread and keep it moist, and put the top part in the toaster to make it crispy. How is it? :))))

That might work, as I want that sauce part to be crunchy and well baked. :D

Dipping bread in sauce is something I would never have thought of, the texture must be interesting, but they sure were tasty.
