Lights At The Shoppes

The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands is one of Singapore’s higher than high end shopping malls with over 800,000 square feet of high-end retail shops. If you have the money to spend, you will be treated like a royalty by the concierge or personal shopping service. The mall’s design is futuristic – no less. One of attractive features are giant glass windows that rise up to the ceiling.

I have never been into any of the shops. I am too self conscious to do that. Knowing that I could not afford – nor do I need anything from the shops, I didn’t see any point in wasting time – the salesperson’s and mine. Most of the brands have names I can’t even pronounce.

However, I have dined in a couple of the restaurants there. Needless to say, I had to pay a bit more for my meals. But sometimes, you have to enjoy life a bit and not worry too much about money. So, once in a while, when friends suggest we do something different and treat ourselves, we will go and have a wander around the waterfront promenade and the Shoppes mall before going for a meal at one of the restaurants.

I was there on Thursday after visiting the Gardens by the Bay. I had to pass by the mall on the way to the train station. So, I thought I would have a wander around the mall and see what they had in the way of Christmas Decorations this year.

Here are some photos I took. I have never seen so many lights in a shopping mall. They are a mall of its kind, so I guess their decors have to be a bit different too. No doubt some will like it, and some would find it too 'flashy'.
