Hello friends! How are you all? Hope you all are doing well and enjoying your life. I'm also good and enjoying my life and all festivals, that's why I was bit busy in these days. Today I'm going to talk about Ganesh chaturthi festival. Ganesh chaturthi is one of the most prominent festivals of India. people wait the whole year for this festival.
Ganesh chaturthi is the 10 day-long hindu festival held on the birthday of the lord Ganesha. He is the son of shiva and Parvati. In Hindu mythology , lord Ganesha is "prathama pujya" and is worshipped first among all gods . This festival is celebrated all over India ( widely celebrated in Maharashtra) . The festival is held on shukla chaturthi in the Hindu month of bhaadarapada and ends on anant Chaturdashi. This year it celebrated on 10 September to 19 September.
Hindus refer to lord Ganesha as the remover of all obstacles. People believe that lord Ganesha comes every year with prosperity and success. Furthermore, they welcome lord Ganesha in their homes with the belief that Ganesha will remove all their sufferings.
We also welcome Ganesha in our home every year. We starts prepration before 5-10 days ago. First going for shopping and buy decorative material for pandals. Set up pandal and install the statue of lord Ganesha in our home. ( People also install the statue of lord Ganesha at temples and societies).
It begins on the chaturthi. Getting up early in the morning, bathing and wear new clothes for celebrate this festival. Then decorate the statue of lord Ganesha with garland, flowers , crown and duppta. Sing devotional songs for Ganesha and recited various mantras on his praise, perfomes aarti and seek the blessings.
Most importantly , offer sweets, fruits and bhog to lord Ganesha . Offer lord Ganesha with Modak which is the lord's favourite dessert.
We perform aarti 10 days in the morning and evening and offer different bhog and sweets. Sometimes we make it at home and sometimes brought from market.
On the last day ( on Chaturdashi) visarjan take place, when the time to say bye to statue of lord Ganesha (one of the most difficult bye) . Before visarjan perform aarti and offer bhog and pray for wellbeing & return of lord Ganesha soon every year. The final immersion of lord Ganesha's statue in the river or ocean marks the end of Ganesh chaturthi.
In short, Ganesh chaturthi is a fun-filled festival in honour of lord Ganesha. People all over India enjoy it. Ganesh chaturthi spreads joy and unites people all over.
