Holy Umbrella Offering Ceremony

The umbrellas that protect the Buddha statues from the rain provide shade.
However, the umbrella offered at the pagoda does not provide shelter for the pagoda.

In the offering of the holy umbrella, the umbrellas are transported to the pagoda by a spirit chariot.
It is not known whether the Indra deities in the past used their divine chariots to offer the pagoda with umbrellas.

Visitors from nearby villages come to offer offerings at the holy umbrella offering ceremony.
Visitors are treated with a variety of food.
They invite the monks and make donations.

We also went to the Pagoda holy Umbrella Ceremony, participated in the donation, and took souvenir photos.

ဘုရားထီးတော်တင်လှူပွဲ ရောက်ခဲ့သည့်အကြောင်း ဆက်ရဦးမယ်။
စေတီတော်ကို ထီးတော် တင်လှူရာ၌ ပင်မစေတီ အပြင် အရံစေတီများကိုလည်း ထီးတော်တင်လှူရပါတယ်။
ထီးတော်ကို ကြေးဖြင့် ပြုလုပ်ထားပါတယ်။ အချို့ တန်ခိုးကြီး ထင်ရှားကျော်ကြားတဲ့ စေတီတော်တွေကိုတော့ ရွှေထီးတော် တင်လှူကြပါတယ်။

ထီး ဆိုတာက အမိုးအကာ အဖြစ် အရိပ်မိုးပေးတဲ့ အရာပါ။
ဗုဒ္ဓရုပ်ပွားတော်များကို မိုးကာပေးသော ထီးတော်များကတော့ အရိပ်အမိုးရစေပါတယ်။
သို့သော် စေတီတော်မှာ တင်လှူသော ထီးတော်ကတော့ စေတီ အတွက် အမိုးအကာ မဖြစ်စေပါဘူး။

ရှေးတုန်းက သိကြား နတ်မင်းတွေက သူတို့၏ နတ်ရထားဖြင့် စေတီတော်ကို ထီးတော် တင်လှူခဲ့ကြတာလား မသိပါ။
ဒီမှာတော့ နတ်ရထား ကို ကြိုး ဖြင့် ဆွဲတင်ကြခြင်း ဖြစ်ပါတယ်။

ထီးတော်တင်လှူပွဲ၌ အနီးနားရွာများမှ ဧည့်သည်များ လာရောက် ပူဇော်ကြပါတယ်။
လာရောက်ကြသူများကို စားစရာမျိုးစုံဖြင့် ဧည့်ခံကျွေးမွေးပါတယ်။
သံဃာတော်များကို ပင့်ဖိတ်၍ အလှူများလည်း ပြုကြပါတယ်။

ကျွန်တော်တို့လည်း စေတီတော် ထီးတင်လှူပွဲ သို့ သွားရောက်ခဲ့ကြပြီး အလှူ၌ ပါဝင်ခဲ့ကြပြီး အမှတ်တရဓာတ်ပုံများရိုက်ယူခဲ့ပါတယ်။
