DIY: simple process on how to cut and sew car seat perfectly.

Hello my co-diyhub friends

Happy Thursday, how are you all doing? I hope you all are doing great, if you ask about me i am doing good.

I am very happy to creat a post here in this community, i make is community has the best to me because the are special among all the community in hive.
Today i am sharing with you guys another great tutorial on how to sew a car seat perfectly, this will be so simple for those that can make use of sewing machine, it just to follow up my steps and you are good to go.
To tell you the truth, to have a skill is so amazing because no matter how you can never lack what to eat with your family.

The owner of this seat first give me the back seat to see if my work will be nice, because he waited doing all the seat since last year but he just give me just the back seat, and me i did not know it was a test untill when he brought back the two front seat for me to complete, he open up the secret to me that my work is so amazing and people ask him where he did it and he has refer many to me but i was not away of that to tell him thank you.

To begin the process

The are some reason that make one to change the old seat cover of his car, if the car leather expired or he choose to change the colour or clothes to leather etc.

Tools/material needed

  • sewing machine
  • sewing thread
  • set of sucket spanner
  • star and flat scroll driver
  • scissors
  • chalk
  • ruler
  • pliar
  • new leather
  • sewing roof etc

Firstly i loose the seat from the car to my shop for the work to start fully.

I pick the pieces of the leather i use at thet back to get a new on so that it will match together. Below is the picture of the leather i am using.

To make the work simple, i lose out the seat from the back seat separate for easy access .

I then use a sewing tape to take the measurements of each pattern on the seat in a vertical and horizontal way now minding the curve. Ie alway in a rectangular form.

I then transfer the measurements to the new leather, and then Mark it out.

I then use my scissors to cut it out following the line i draw.

The next thing to do if to form the pattern which is very important, and to make this steps easy i will love to make a video on this.
To form a pattern some people loose the old pattern , place it on the new cut material and then trace the share out, but what if the old pattern damage?
Therefore for me i place the new cut material direct on the form and shape out my patter which is very simple for me.

After achieving my pattern, i them place it on a roof material, then apply gym for it to be join together

I then cut them out with the help of my scissors.

After cutting out i then use my sewing machine to join those pattern together.

After sewing it, i then clip the new seat cover to the form

Done cliping the main seat

I then clip the back seat.

Done clipping the back seat

Here is the both cliping seat

After clipping them, i them tight it back has i loose it and finally my seat is ready.

Here is the finish work

Those are the two difference front seat completed.
How is the out come of the tutorial, hope is looking good.

Thanks everyone for going through and feel free to comment and ask any questions i am at your service.
I love you all.
