The Perfect Friday Breakfast ||White Rice With Spicy Snail Stew || Using Snail In Place Of Meat/Fish

Have you ever try using snail in place of meat or fish? It sounds somehow right? Here in Nigeria alot of people prefered snail to meat or fish, infact some families loves snail so much that whenever rain fell they will go to the forest to hunt or pick snail, they will then kill, boil and cook it. Last night my mum brought home some pre-cooked snail i.e the snails has been killed, washed and boiled. Infact the snail is absolutely clean and pre-cooked all you need to do is wash it and fry it.

Since the snail is ready, all I needed is just to fry and add it to my stew.

The ingredients

  • Rice

  • Vegetable Oil.

  • Pre-cooked snail

  • Red Pepper, Tomatoes and Onions.

  • Seasoning Powder

  • Tomato Paste

  • Maggi and Salt

Step 1: The very first thing to do is blend the pepper, tomatoes and onions together


Step 2: Now wash and rinse the pre-cooked snail, then get you vegetable oil ready.


Step 3: Place a sauce pan on the heat, add the vegetable oil, pre-heat the oil for 2 minutes then fry some sliced onions, after that gently fry your pre-cooked snail


Step 4: Parboiled the blended Pepper, now take a small bowl and dilute the tomatoes paste with water


Step 5: Now fry the parboiled pepper with the vegetable oil in a different sauce pan, then add the diluted tomato paste and stir together, let it cook for 15 minutes before add the fried snail.


Step 6: Place another cooking pot on heat, the one you use for cooking rice, then wash the rice and cook for 30 minutes.


**Remove from heat, Serve and enjoy with chilled soft drink or beverages or any drink of your choice
