❣️¡Hola amigos!❣️
❣️¡Hi friends!❣️
It is a pleasure to greet you and participate in this great community of Foodes Bee Hive and as always I thank God for his blessings and for allowing me to be part of it. A few days ago my mom had her birthday and to cheer her up and please her we made her favorite sweet, this is the traditional Venezuelan sweet: ARROZ CON COCO. This is a very easy dessert to prepare, it is inexpensive and has an exquisite flavor.
One of the reasons why I like to prepare coconut rice is that at home we all collaborate in the preparation and so we take the opportunity to chat, give advice and call attention when things are not going well and for example a button. In the following picture my mom is grating coconut with her eldest grandson (who is like her youngest son because my mom raised him when he was little), oh and I forgot to tell you that with my hands busy my nephew could not disperse even with the cell phone 😊.
And now join me in the step by step of this typical dessert.
4 Coconuts, half a papelón, 3 cups of rice, a spoonful of salt and cinnamon powder to taste.
The first thing we do is to chop the coconut to remove it from the shell, then we wash it with plenty of water and begin to grate the coconut on the smallest side of the strand.
Then we add a glass of water to the grated coconut to obtain a glass of pure coconut milk (we squeeze it well). We reserve this glass of coconut milk and later I will tell you when we will use it.
Now, as for 3 cups of rice we need 6 cups of coconut milk, we proceed to add 6 cups of water to the same coconut shredding and thus we will get 6 cups of coconut milk.
Now we measure and wash the cups of rice, add the 6 cups of coconut water and the salt and put it on the fire.
When the rice is cooked we lower the fire to the minimum and we add the half papelón or panela that we have previously grated and the cup of pure coconut milk that we had reserved initially. Stir with the wooden spoon until the panela dissolves well and if we see that the rice is very dry we add half a cup of water, stir and turn off the fire.
Finally serve in cups and sprinkle with cinnamon powder. Now enjoy our delicious dessert.

Bendiciones.

Yummy 😋. It is similar with tipe of sweet rice porridge called 'bubur jenang merah' (you can google it).
You are right in what you say, the preparation of "bubur jenang merah" is very similar. Very nice to read your comment. Thank you very much.
