Hive Open Mic Week 102 / Una Palabra (Vocal Cover) By @migueydani
What a pleasure to greet you beautiful Hive community, for this week 102 of Hive Open Mic I want to bring you a song that for me represents the Tocando Almas theme. The song is called "Una Palabra" and it is by Cuban singer Carlos Varela. This song is part of his album Nubes released in 2000.
I got to know this song in 2004 thanks to a movie starring Denzel Washington and Dakota Fanning called Man on Fire. It is part of the soundtrack, they use it at the end in a very emotional part between the actors and from there I clicked with the song.
The singer Carlos Varela is characterized by his Cuban troubadour voice giving a very peculiar touch to his songs and this one is definitely no exception. I selected this song also because it is very reflective and poetic in a way.

Que gusto saludarlos hermosa comunidad de Hive, para esta semana 102 de Hive Open Mic quiero traerles una canción que para mí representa la temática Tocando Almas. La canción se llama "Una Palabra" y es del cantante cubano Carlos Varela. Está canción forma parte de su álbum Nubes lanzado para el año 2000.
Esta canción la conocí en el año 2004 gracias a una película protagonizada por Denzel Washington y Dakota Fanning que lleva por nombre Hombre en llamas. Es parte de la banda sonora, la utilizan al final en una parte muy emotiva entre los actores y desde allí hice click con la canción.
El cantante Carlos Varela se caracteriza por su voz de trovador cubano dando un toque muy peculiar a sus canciones y en está definitivamente no hay excepción. Este tema lo seleccioné también por ser muy reflexivo y poético de cierta forma.

Leer esto causa mucha alegría en mi, confieso que el canto fue un sueño que quise cumplir, queria transmitir sentimientos con mi voz pero por cosas de la vida no lo hice. Recuerdo que estuve en una coral por varios años y mi voz era muy aguda era soprano de hecho y pienso que desde allí fue que aprendí que la musica cambiaría mi vida.
Gracias por tu apoyo, seguiré trabajando para preparar canciones que muevan y toque n fibras del alma en cada persona que pueda.
