A Year From Now, I Hope You Remember This

This week's prompt felt so much like a digital journal I record myself daily, the journal have asked me twice in the last months to write to my future self in different ways. One was to write a letter of encouragement and hope to my future self and the another was a kind, true love letter.

Since I've written a few letters to my future self and experienced some calm in doing it, I find this week's prompt very helpful to my present situation and how I've been feeling like I'm stuck with no idea how to kick off and start again, even when motivation is absent. So, I write this letter.

A letter to my future self (Read after a Year Later)

Dear Merit,

Take a deep breath before you read on, I can already tell you've been so busy in figuring things out and going at your own pace but somehow you've been forgetting to take it easy on yourself. I know the responsibilities on you have increased than they were a year ago but remember how much you've learned to prioritise your peace of mind while you go about taking care of other businesses, especially family. You've done a great job so far, taking care of your body and still making sure family know that you still care a lot.

Merit, I hope you've stopped trying to be everything people want you to be and I hope you've started to apply all the ideas, thoughts and wisdom you've been learning consistently into the things you said you'd take action on. If you have by now, I'm sure you're living more on your terms now and more comfortable in a life you chose for yourself. If you haven't yet, I want you to know it's totally fine to have a slower pace but this is my reminder to you that you can still achieve every thing you set your mind to do now.

Remember our slogan... You're guided by a supreme being and you're more capable than you think, just keep trying everything till you find your purpose, peace and find the right people who will bring you towards your goals without feeling guilty about it. Merit, you've got this. Don't look at your past from here, you've come so far and there's no backing out because you're closer to our main goal than where we started. I Love You!
