Harvest Time! - Bell Peppers!

How are you all? You might be wondering what happened to the bell peppers that I mentioned about in my past garden update post. You can find it here

Days ago we harvested it. I don't really know if these were all mature but I guess they are. It was our first time to have these kind of pepper in our garden. At first I was hesitant to harvest it because it seems to me that they are still small. What made me decide to do so was my husband. He was cooking a dish and asked if we have something in the garden that can be used for the dish. I told him we have the bell peppers. It was our second daughter who helped me get them. She was so excited to do the harvesting and so thrilled in handing them to her daddy. My apology, I was not able to take photos of the dish. But if suffice to say that it was a delicious one!

Here they are before we took them down:

It was a great sight to see that we have once again got harvest from our very own little garden. The eggplants by the way were harvested earlier. No photos again. I uprooted all the remaining basil plants and I end up having these pots (old rusty cans) with soil.

I have started throwing away some of the cans. And will again prepare the soil for new plants. This task I have not done. Got preoccupied with other things. With my children now back to modular schooling, I need to help them in accomplishing the modules. But even so, I will surely make time for my garden "overhaul". Just these afternoon, my children found out that one of our Kalamansi plants leaves were eaten by caterpillars. Leaving it with no more leaves.

I took the caterpillars off the plant. My children were telling me not to kill it. :D I did not really kill it, I just transferred it to another plant, away from my plants :D I hope they will not think I am a bad person hahaha

Do you have a garden at home too?? What plants do you have in it?

I guess that is all for now. Until next time. Take care and stay safe!

Love,
Met

We don't grow much in Suriname because we don't have a space for it, but we do little things like herbs, green onions, and curry leaves. Will your peppers get any bigger? I ask because they remind of a pepper we call "wax pepper" in the USA. It is one of my favorites.

I think these peppers will still grow bigger but we harvested it early 😁
