Hoy quiero mostrarle unos de los lugares que más me ha impactado de todos los que he visitado en mi vida. En el año 2010 tuve la oportunidad de visitar uno de los lugares icónicos de Barcelona, España, se trata de la basílica La Sagrada Familia. Es una iglesia católica de estilo modernista diseñada por el arquitecto catalán Antoni Gaudí que aún se encuentra en construcción, la cual fue iniciada en 1882. Mis amigos catalanes y mi prima me invitaron a conocer este bello lugar.
Tuvimos que hacer una fila inmensa que bordeaba toda la manzana, nos demoramos una hora para entrar, luego nos agruparon y nos atendió una guía quien nos dio audífonos para oír bien toda la explicación del lugar.
Es realmente impresionante su belleza sin igual, ese estilo modernista era único de Gaudí, todas sus obras tienen su sello. Es muy llamativo observar que aún se encuentra en construcción porque el diseño original cuenta con 18 torres, aún la torre principal que será la de mayor altura no se ha terminado de construir.

Hello friends of this Throwback Thursday community, it is a pleasure for me to share my memories again in this beautiful community because “to remember is to live again.”
Today I want to show you some of the places that have impacted me the most of all the places I have visited in my life. In 2010 I had the opportunity to visit one of the iconic places in Barcelona, Spain, it was the Sagrada Familia basilica. It is a modernist-style Catholic church designed by the Catalan architect Antoni Gaudí that is still under construction, which was started in 1882. My Catalan friends and my cousin invited me to visit this beautiful place.
We had to stand in a huge line that ran around the entire block, it took us an hour to get in, then they grouped us together and a guide helped us who gave us headphones to hear the entire explanation of the place.
Its unparalleled beauty is truly impressive, that modernist style was unique to Gaudí, all his works have his stamp. It is very striking to note that it is still under construction because the original design has 18 towers, even the main tower, which will be the tallest, has not been completed.

Gaudí se inspiró en la naturaleza para realizar su diseño, las columnas tienen forma de árboles y abundan también figuras de frutas y animales, así como las figuras humanas que están a relieve en todo el exterior de la basílica. Ninguna de las estructuras es de línea recta, esto es algo que me llamó mucho la atención.
Pudimos apreciar la técnica que empleó Gaudí para diseñarla, él realizaba maquetas tridimendionales como les muestro en una foto, algo muy ingenioso.
Subimos a una de las torres por una escalera de caracol muy estrecha y desde arriba se puede divisar la ciudad de Barcelona, es una vista muy bonita.
Gaudí was inspired by nature to make his design, the columns are shaped like trees and there are also many figures of fruits and animals, as well as human figures that are in relief throughout the exterior of the basilica. None of the structures are straight, this is something that caught my attention.
We were able to appreciate the technique that Gaudí used to design it, he made three-dimensional models as I show you in a photo, something very ingenious.
We went up to one of the towers via a very narrow spiral staircase and from above you can see the city of Barcelona, it is a very beautiful view.
Pasamos un día espectacular, al terminar el recorrido estábamos muy agotados y nos sentamos en las afueras a merendar y descansar un poco. Siempre que se visita un lugar se aprenden cosas nuevas, yo había oído hablar de Gaudí y su obra pero no hay nada mejor que visitar el lugar y apreciar la inmensidad de su belleza e ingeniosidad. Todo aquel que pise Barcelona tiene que visitarla y siempre quedará en su memoria como me ha pasado a mí.
Espero que les haya gustado mis recuerdos compartidos, yo los tengo bien resguardados para siempre.
We had a spectacular day, at the end of the tour we were very exhausted and we sat outside to have a snack and rest a little. Whenever you visit a place you learn new things, I had heard about Gaudí and his work but there is nothing better than visiting the place and appreciating the immensity of its beauty and ingenuity. Everyone who sets foot in Barcelona has to visit it and it will always remain in their memory as it has happened to me.

This place is amazing, and just until today that you publish your post it turns out that we were going to sing in this church so imposing and important in Holy Week, but I was told a few hours ago that the concert has been canceled 😭 Now that I see these images I know a little more of what I will miss, but I vibrate from so much beauty that is reflected in these photographs.
