The greatest threat faced by this generation is climate change and without a habitable earth to live what's left? But we can still contribute as individuals in tackling climate change. As the climate is changing, so should we change the way we live our lives as this will help in reducing the risk of climatic change. Waiting for the government to do something about it will take too long, it's important to take matters into our hands with the little things we do differently.

However, it's true that climate change occurs naturally, but we can still shift our focus on how to deal with it because these changes are caused by human phenomena through Volcanic activities such as the burning of carbon-rich materials like oil, coal fossils and natural has greatly added to the rate of climatic change since the time of industrial changes. This act increases the proportion of CO2(carbon dioxide) in the air which is capable of throwing the climate out of balance and this leads to atmospheric disruptions.

As the climate changes it will affect a lot of things such as :

• Frequent occurrence of weather patterns
• polar caps and glaciers will melt
• The rise in sea level
• Biodiversity as a result of habitat and arbitrated food sources.
• Affect the rate of food supply because of the shift in geographical areas.
• climate refugees, I.e natural disasters can lead to population displacement and human migration.

These are some things we can do right in tackling climate change.

climate change occurs when an excess of greenhouse gases is released into the atmosphere, and the majority of people believe that the issue of climate change is too tremendous for individuals to make a difference, but it's possible to reduce it by making both small and big changes that we propel.

1) Avoiding plastic wherever you go: plastic is the most popular material and is the pretty present in everything we make use of all most everywhere, in cosmetics, on the street, on the beach, just to mention but a few. The high rate of plastic contributes to climate change, because every plastic is manufactured from fossils fuels, and this emits greenhouse gasses.

There are some ways we can minimize the use of plastic, though it is easier for some people than others, we can still learn how to minimize it by :

• using a reusable bottle is a way to reduce the high rate of plastic and it also saves money

• Disposable plastic cutlery should be minimized, you can always keep a spoon in your desk at work, but it might sound weird to some people. There will be low production of plastic when the demand is low.

• Plastic bag usage should be minimized(polythene), because most times we use it, we end up to dispose it...why not try using a cotton bag that you carry anytime you go out for shopping. This will also help in minimizing The use of plastic.

2) protecting our forest and planting more trees: This is one of the important measures to take to reduce climate change because trees feed on CO2 and it converts the climate-damaging gas into oxygen which is important for our existence.

We should not focus only on reforestation but also on deforestation. I.e we should limit the way trees are being cut down in huge areas at the same time.

There are still some other measures that can be taken, but the few things I mentioned Will also go a long way in reducing climate change. The precautions are not easy but should be put into consideration because of the consequences of climate change. The most centered solution is the reduction in the level of greenhouse gases being released into the atmosphere.
