White Fang is an adventure romance by American writer Jack London.

It was first published in chapters in "OUTING" magazine.

Colmillo Blanco es un romance de aventura del escritor americano Jack London.

The original English title is WHITE FANG.

The novel is set on the frozen boreal plains of North America, in the Yukon.

El título original en inglés es WHITE FANG.

The first part of the story begins in 1893, when two gold prospectors, Henry and Bill, try to bring Lord Alfred's coffin to the city in a sledge pulled by six dogs.

But this expedition is made even more difficult because in addition to having no more food reserves, the two men also had no more ammunition left to defend themselves against a pack of wolves that followed them and attacked them continuously.

In the pack there was a she-wolf "KICHE" the fiercest and strongest of the pack.

Bill and four dogs are killed and devoured by the wolves, while Henry, convinced to end up like his friend, is saved by a group of people who scare the wolves away.

La primera parte de la historia empieza en el 1893, cuando dos buscadores de oro, Henry y Bill, tratan de llevar hacia la ciudad en un trineo tirado por seis perros, el ataúd de Lord Alfred.

The second part of the book concentrates on the movements of the pack and in particular of Kiche.

The she-wolf was in fact a mongrel, i.e. she was not a pure wolf but a crossbreed with a bitch.

The story tells of Kiche looking for a mate to mate with and finding Tuerto, a strong and courageous wolf, who had lost an eye in a fight.

Soon after, Kiche gives birth to five cubs but they all die in the freezing winter, all except one, a little grey wolf.

La segunda parte del libro se concentra en los movimientos de la manada y en particular de Kiche.

La loba en realidad era mestiza, o sea que no era una loba pura pero era cruzada con perra.

La historia cuenta de Kiche que busca un compañero para acopiarse y encuentra Tuerto, un lobo fuerte y corajudo, el cual había perdido un ojo en una pelea.

Poco tiempo después, Kiche da a luz cinco cachorros pero mueren todos a causa del helado invierno, todos menos uno, un lobito gris.

One day the one-eyed man, in order to defend Kiche and the little one, loses his life in a fight against a lynx.

Kiche, in order to make amends and at the same time guarantee his own and his family's survival, kills the lynx's cubs and then the lynx itself.

Un día el Tuerto por defender Kiche y el pequeño, pierde la vida en un combatimiento contra una lince.

The story takes a turn when the pack, and in particular Kiche and his son, meet five indigenous people. One of them, called Castor Gris, recognises his brother's dog in the wolf's mother, who had escaped some time before because of the severe famine.

He then decides to capture the she-wolf and her cub, whom he will later call "White Fang" because of the colour of his teeth, which is very rare in wild wolves.

Shortly afterwards the she-wolf was sold and the wolf, left alone, was mistreated by the other dogs of the tribe, in particular by the leader "Lip-Lip", a Siberian Husky.

This is why White Fang grows up alone and wild, but Mith Sah, son of Grey Beaver, decides to train him to drive the sledge, taking advantage of his natural gifts of strength and speed.

La historia da un giro cuando la manada y en particular Kiche y su hijo, se cruzan con cinco indígenas. Uno de ellos llamado Castor Gris, reconoce en la madre del lobito el perro de su hermano que tiempo atrás había escapado a causa de la grave carestía.

Decide entonces de capturar la loba y su cachorro al que luego llamará con el nombre de "Colmillo Blanco" por el color de sus dientes, muy raro en los lobos salvajes.

Poco tiempo después la loba vendrá vendida y el lobo quedando solo, será maltratado por los demás perros de la tribu, en particular por el lider "Lip-Lip" un Siberian Husky.

Es por esto que Colmillo Blanco crece solo y salvaje, pero Mith Sah, hijo de Castor Gris, decide de amaestrarlo para conducir el trineo aprovechando sus dotes naturales de fuerza y velocidad.

During a trip to the Yukon, a man called "Handsome Smith", tricked Grey Beaver, getting him drunk and stealing his wolf to then take advantage of him in dog fights where he made money from the bets, mistreating and torturing the poor White Fang so that he would get meaner and meaner and win over his opponents.

But one day the wolf found himself in combat with a bulldog "Cherokee", who with his tough attacks was about to kill him.

Fortunately Weedon Scott arrived and intervened by beating the handsome Smith, threatening to denounce his dirty business and taking White Fang with him.

Durante un viaje a Yukon, un hombre llamado "guapo Smith", engaña a Castor Gris, emborrachándolo y robándole el lobo para luego aprovecharse de el en peleas de perros dónde ganaba dinero con las apuestas, maltratando y torturando al pobre Colmillo Blanco para que éste se pusiera cada día más malo y feroz y ganase sobre sus adversarios.

Afortunadamente llegó Weedon Scott que intervino golpeando el guapo Smith, amenazando también de denunciar sus sucios negocios y llevándose a Colmillo Blanco consigo.

The last part of the story is when, after a long educational journey, Weedon manages to gain the animal's trust.

At a certain point, the man decides to return to his native California. At first he thinks about leaving White Fang there, thinking that he would not adapt to another place, but the wolf manages to convince him that being with his master is what he wants most.

In California, the wolf transforms into a perfect guard dog and finds the companion of his life, "Collie".

But the dangers are not over yet.

One night, a dangerous murderer sentenced to death by Judge Scott, Weedon's father, manages to escape from prison and arrive at the Scott home to assassinate the judge.

But White Fang intervenes and manages to kill the criminal, but unfortunately he is wounded.

Once recovered, the wolf discovers that Collie has given birth to six puppies.

The story ends with White Fang resting with his puppies in the warm rays of the sun in the garden of his house.

This story, capable of capturing the attention of young and old, will transport you to the wild environment of North America, experiencing the contrasts between civilisation and nature, between man and animal.

La última parte de la historia es cuando después de un largo percorso educativo, Weedon logra ganarse la confianza del animal.

A un cierto punto, el hombre decide de volver a su lugar natal que era en California. Al principio piensa dejar a Colmillo Blanco ahí, pensando que éste no se adaptaría a otro lugar, pero el lobo logra a convencerlo que estar con su amo es lo que más desea.

En California, el lobo se transforma en un perfecto perro guardián y encuentra la compañera de su vida, "Collie".

Pero los peligros aún no se acaban.

Una noche, un peligroso asesino condenado a muerte por el juez Scott, padre de Weedon, logra escapar de prisión y llegar a casa de los Scott para asesinar el juez.

Pero Colmillo Blanco interviene logrando matar al criminal y lamentablemente queda herido.

Una vez recuperado, el lobo descubre que Collie dió a luz a seis cachorros.

La historia termina con Colmillo Blanco que descansa junto a sus cachorros bajo los rayos tibios del sol en el jardín de su casa.

Esta historia capaz de atrapar la atención de grandes y pequeños, te transportará en el entorno salvaje de Norteamérica viviendo los contrastes entre civilización y naturaleza, entre el hombre y el animal.
