I join this interesting proposal made by the friends of @ecotrain dedicated to spirituality: The question is the following: Do we need a Guru or Master for our spiritual growth?
Me uno a esta propuesta interesante realizada por los amigos de @ecotrain dedicada a la espiritualidad: La pregunta es la siguiente:¿Necesitamos un Gurú o Maestro para nuestro crecimiento espiritual?
DO WE NEED A GURU OR TEACHER TO GROW SPIRITUALLY??//¿NECESITAMOS UN GURÚ O MAESTRO PARA CRECER ESPIRITUALMENTE?
Very interesting question. Gurus are people who are spiritually prepared and have extensive knowledge on some subject. These people are respected for the virtues they possess. People who are dedicated to this practice are Guru or spiritual master. With a great trajectory of knowledge at a spiritual level. "He is the one who puts the light in the darkness."
Pregunta muy interesante. Los Gurús son personas que están preparadas espiritualmente y con un amplio conocimiento sobre algún tema. Estas personas son respetadas por las virtudes que posee. Las personas que se dedican a esta práctica son Gurú o maestro espiritual. Con una gran trayectoria de conocimientos a nivel espiritual. "Es aquel que pone la luz en la oscuridad."
There are countries like India where the religion is Hinduism and that religion has spiritual masters or Gurus who are responsible for teaching those belonging to the religion the sacred scriptures and mantras.
Existen países como la India donde la religión es el hinduismo y esa religión poseen maestros espirituales o Gurús los cuales son los encargados de enseñar a los pertenecientes a la religión las escrituras sagradas y mantras.
Just as in the Catholic and Evangelical religion there are Guru's who are in charge of imparting knowledge about the sacred scriptures. These people have extensive knowledge on these subjects. The Guru lives the teachings according to it. He must have a number of characteristics such as: disciplined, courteous, kind, endowed with much knowledge, open minded, willing to teach.
Así como en la religión católica y evangélica existen Gurúes los cuales se encargan de impartir conocimientos sobre las sagradas escrituras. Estas personas tienen un amplio conocimiento sobre estos temas. El Gurú vive las enseñanzas conforme a ella. Debe reunir una serie de características tales como: ser disciplinado, cortés, amable, dotado de mucho conocimiento, una mente abierta, dispuesto a enseñar.
Giving the answer to the question my answer is affirmative. Yes, it is important to have a spiritual master in order to grow spiritually. Why? When we want to grow spiritually we need these teachers or Gurus to teach us the spiritual basics about what we want to learn because they are the most suitable person to impart these teachings, they have a broad philosophical knowledge on the subject. For example: when I wanted to learn to meditate, which is not easy to learn, I had to find a spiritual teacher who taught me the tools, the correct method to learn meditation and also to learn to breathe in a conscious way. When I wanted to learn Reiki level one I had a spiritual teacher who taught me to learn the laying on of hands, how to handle the energy, the symbols that are used in Reiki which I did not know, also how to clean the chakras, etc. I learned so many things that I did not know existed. Then the teachers or Gurus are fundamental tools to learn any subject. Not only on a spiritual level but in any area of life. In this case we focus on the spiritual level.
Dándole la respuesta a la pregunta mi respuesta es afirmativa. Si es importante poseer un maestro espiritual para crecer espiritualmente. Por qué? Cuando queremos crecer espiritualmente necesitamos de estos maestros o Gurús para que nos enseñen los basamentos espirituales sobre lo que queremos aprender ya que ellos son la persona más idónea para impartir estas enseñanzas, poseen un amplio conocimiento filosófico sobre el tema. Por ejemplo: cuando quise aprender a meditar que no es nada fácil aprender, tuve que buscarme un maestro espiritual que me enseñó las herramientas,el método correcto para aprender la meditación e igualmente aprender a respirar en forma consciente. Cuando quise aprender el Reiki nivel uno tuve un maestro espiritual el cual me enseño aprender la imposición de manos como manejar la energía, los símbolos que se utilizan en el reiki cosa que desconocía, asimismo como limpiar las chakras, etc. Aprendí tantas cosas que no sabia que existian. Entonces los maestros o Gurús son herramientas fundamentales para aprender cualquier tema. No solamente a nivel espiritual sino en cualquier ámbito de la vida. En este caso lo enfocamos a nivel espiritual.
I spent a year with a spiritual teacher named Yohama who taught me many things that if I had been alone I would not have been able to learn. We must have a spiritual guide to learn what we want to learn. To maintain those states of quieting the mind where thoughts cross and sabotage and we do not achieve on our own what we want, that is why spiritual masters are there to guide us and through their experience and philosophical studies they guide us to achieve what we want. These people have a very high level of consciousness. These spiritual masters help us to walk the path of spirituality.
Estuve un año con una maestra espiritual llamada Yohama que me enseñó muchas cosas que si me hubiese puesto sola aprender no lo hubiese logrado. Debemos tener un guia espiritual para aprender lo que queramos aprender. Para mantener esos estados de aquietar a la mente donde los pensamientos se atraviesan y sabotean y no logramos por nuestra cuenta lograr lo que queremos para eso están los maestros espirituales para guiarnos y a través de su experiencia y estudios filosóficos nos encaminan a lograr lo que deseamos. Estas personas a nivel de conciencia tienen un nivel muy elevado. Estos maestros espirituales nos ayudan a transitar por el camino de la espiritualidad.
The detail is in knowing how to choose the spiritual teacher and that he/she is the right one, because there are false teachers and they take advantage of the need of the person who goes on this spiritual search and can have a very bad time. Fortunately my spiritual teacher is a prepared woman with a unique level of consciousness and she has really helped me a lot. I know I still have a long way to go but I am in that awakening of consciousness.
El detalle está en saber escoger al maestro espiritual y que sea el adecuado ya que existen falsos maestros y se aprovechan de la necesidad de la persona que va en esa búsqueda espiritual y la puede pasar muy mal. Afortunadamente mi maestra espiritual es una mujer preparada con un nivel de conciencia único y de verdad me ha ayudado bastante. Sé que aun me falta por recorrer pero estoy en ese despertar de la conciencia.

Here you told us how it would have been difficult for you without the help of your teacher. Having your teacher with you sped up your journey and you have made an impressive progress. So yes I agree with you, we all need the guidance of a guru or a teacher.

Interesting post. Thank you for submitting your entry. There is need for us to have a spiritual teacher to guide us and help us learn what we do not know before. But, we must also be careful with who we take as spiritual leader because many aren't actually called into the ministry of spirituality just as you have said here;
