Since a few days ago, I have been reading posts from some users who have published in a new photographic Community called Photo-essay, which has as its premise "tell a story with 5 photos and 150 words", so I decided to join and share today my first participation.

A few months ago, I traveled to Caracas with my sister who needed to attend to some personal matters, while for my part, that trip served me, besides helping my sister to drive during the journey of about 360 kms, to get out of the routine for a few days and visit my two children who are pursuing their university studies in that city, capital of the republic.

During our 3-day stay, we stayed in the apartment of a relative, located in a beautiful urbanism that has extensive green areas, southeast of Caracas, and from where it is possible to observe part of the city, having as a backdrop, the El Avila National Park, also known as Waraira Repano, its original name in the dialect spoken by the indigenous people who inhabited these lands before the arrival of the Spanish colonizers.

I went around the urbanism with my smartphone, trying to get some good shots of the nearby buildings and some not so close, looking for the vegetation to be the main protagonist, which I don't think was difficult because of its abundance in the area.

Desde hace algunos días, he estado leyendo posts de algunos usuarios que han publicado en una nueva Comunidad fotográfica llamada Photo-essay, que tiene como premisa "contar una historia con 5 fotos y 150 palabras", por lo que decidí unirme y compartir hoy mi primera participación.

Unos meses atrás, viajé a Caracas con mi hermana quien necesitaba atender algunos asuntos personales, mientras que por mi parte, aquel viaje me sirvió, además de ayudar a mi hermana a conducir durante el trayecto de alrededor de 360 kms., a salir unos días de la rutina y visitar a mis dos hijos quienes se encuentran cursando sus estudios universitarios en esa ciudad, capital de la república.

Durante nuestra estadía de 3 días, nos alojamos en el apartamento de un familiar, ubicado en un hermoso urbanismo que posee extensas áreas verdes, al sureste de Caracas, y desde donde es posible observar parte de la ciudad, teniendo como telón de fondo, el Parque Nacional El Avila, también conocido como Waraira Repano, su nombre original en el dialecto que hablaban los indígenas que habitaban en esas tierras antes de la llegada de los colonizadores españoles.

Recorrí el urbanismo con mi smartphone, procurando unas buenas tomas de las edificaciones cercanas y algunas no tan cercanas, buscando que la vegetación fuese la gran protagonista, lo cual no creo que fuese difícil por su abundancia en la zona.

Also, the modern architecture that characterizes this extensive residential complex located on a hill, together with the fact that it was designed to blend in with the surrounding environment, without major disturbances, makes it extremely attractive for photography, which I did not miss.

I was particularly struck by the construction of the roadway to place ornamental water fountains or shrubs, and the good maintenance they have, in order to prevent their deterioration, and consequently, the loss of value of the properties.

También la moderna arquitectura que caracteriza este extenso complejo residencial situado en una colina, aunado al hecho de que fue diseñado para integrarse al entorno ambiental, sin mayores perturbaciones, lo hace sumamente atractivo para fotografiar, lo cual no desaproveché.

Particularmente me llamó la atención, la construcción de redomas en la vialidad para colocar fuentes ornamentales de agua o arbustos, y el buen mantenimiento con que cuentan, a fin de evitar su deterioro, y en consecuencia, la pérdida de valor de los inmuebles.

Of course, I cannot forget to mention the purpose of our short trip, which was, on my sister's part, to attend to personal matters, while I had the opportunity to see and share some time with my children, who live in that city with their mother since she and I separated a few years ago, so we took the opportunity to see each other and go out to dinner together once their academic activities allowed it.

Por supuesto, no puedo olvidar de mencionar el objetivo de nuestro corto viaje, el cual era, por parte de mi hermana, atender asuntos personales, mientras yo tuve la oportunidad de ver y compartir algún tiempo con mis hijos, quienes viven en esa ciudad con su madre desde que ella y yo nos separáramos unos años atrás, por lo que aprovechamos para vernos y salir a cenar juntos una vez que sus actividades académicas lo permitieran.

Of course, every beginning has its end, so after fulfilling our respective agendas, my sister and I started the trip back to our respective homes in the city of Barquisimeto.

Por supuesto, todo inicio tiene su final, así que luego de cumplir con nuestras respectivas agendas, mi hermana y yo emprendimos el viaje de regreso a nuestros respectivos hogares en la ciudad de Barquisimeto.
