WILDLIFE RESCUE CENTER

This is a volunteer rescue organization that uses local veterinarians to treat injured animals and birds. They are located at Munn's Pond county park in Hampton Bays, NY.

Was here for the first time in late Fall. Then I was lucky to catch volunteer Tammy bringing birds of prey out to their cages after spending the night indoors.

Got lucky again, Tammy was showing a family some birds and I got to join in.

Tammy is holding a Peregrine falcon that was found with an injured wing out at Montauk. These birds are very rare to be seen on Long Island, since they prefer high places to make their nests. This bird was operated on but is unable to fly so will spend it's life here.
