A Social Walk Outside The City Center

Last Saturday I met with a friend outside the city center. We met at a vegan cafe and then we went for a walk. I know it might be hard to understand but there is a big difference once you leave the city center of Stockholm. It's just calmer and more peaceful, even though this area isn't far from the center. You just have to go a bit further with the subway, but not to the last stop.

The food was alright but not great but I really appreciate vegan places so I do what I can to support them. I'm not good at taking pictures of food so I skip that part and jump straight into the walk 🙂

Compared to the weekend before it was cold again. Definitely gloves on. It was also windy and I didn't have warm enough clothes so not a very pleasant walk to be honest. But it was nice with a change of scenery for me (my friend lives in this area so not so much for her).

It's nice with open places. I guess the weather made people stay indoors...And today it's actually snowing again and it's 0 degrees Celsius. March has been unusually sunny so far I heard.

Still waiting for spring. Hard to spot anything green.

The round building you might be able to distinguish in the picture above is one of the biggest venues in Sweden, it's called 'the Globe'. I have been to some concerts there but it was a long time ago.

This building is actually a hospital. I wasn't aware there was a hospital here, it's not one of the bigger ones in Stockholm.

Not so many children were out playing. (This was around 3 pm).

I was curious about this small building. It's not common to see things like this in Sweden. It didn't seem to have any 'use case' so to say. It wasn't part of the playground and you couldn't enter it. But it looked nice 🙂

But we do have quite a lot of statues. Like this one. It's called Horse that rolled around and got up (if you translate it directly). But well, it doesn't really look like it got up that easily...

At the end of the walk we finally spotted some flowers 🙂 I hope they are resilient enough to handle the cold weather now.

I feel that it would be good for me with some more peace and quiet. There is a lot of noise where I live because they are building apartment buildings right across the street. And this week they started to renovate the balconies in my building (even though I don't have a balcony so nothing in it for me, just more noise for the next 6-8 weeks or so). They will also cover the windows as a precaution so I'm not really looking forward to that. I spend a lot of time at home since I'm working from home. It's not ideal at the moment. But I have started to plan a bit and hope that I don't stay here that much longer. I can't really sell my flat as long as this renovation is ongoing though.
