It has been a long time plan and the visit has been booked 1 month before to ensure that we will get the slot to spend a whole day in this wonderful place.

Actually, for me the journey commenced not on the actual day, January 3, 2021, when we started our quite a long travel to Bukidnon but it was a day prior when everyone became so busy preparing for the things that has to be brought the following day. We bought a few things like slippers and were still out during the night of January 2, 2021, for some important things to do.

So as planned we departed from Cagayan de Oro at around 5 or 6 in the morning, not so early since the check-in time was 1 PM.

Everyone was really excited, we used to visit Bukidnon, particularly Kibawe once in a while because most of my siblings and relatives live there, but this time the excitement was doubled because we will be visiting a well-known resort located in Maramag Bukidnon, a municipality which is just adjacent to my birthplace.

On that day we were heading to KAMPO UNO MOUNTAIN RESORT, located at Kampo Uno, Maramag, Bukidnon. But before I will continue our journey let me introduce to you those who traveled with us during that one most memorable moment in our life.

On my part, we are already a big family. I was with my wife, my 5 kids and so with two relatives who are also living in our house in Cagayan de Oro City.

My older sister who lives in El Salvador City, the city next to ours going to the western part of Mindanao was also with us. Since she is the only sibling out of the 8 siblings that I have whose abode is closest to our place.

She was with a number of company, aside from her husband and two kids and two grandchildren, her brother in law and his mother were also there.

And to complete the travelers we had with us my daughter’s fiancé who came from the US, he sponsored the whole trip although we also spend on some other things.

So going back to our trip, we left our house at 6 am, again as I mentioned earlier everyone is excited it will be our very first time to visit the resort and what makes it more exciting is the thought that we were with the whole family.

We had traveled about a little more than 2 hours when we had our first stop. It was the city of Malaybalay the capital city of the province of Bukidnon.

The place was cool, people dubbed it as the little Baguio of Mindanao because of its cold weather even from 11am to 1pm.

But we are not supposed to explore the city, we just had a stopover there because my 2 kids were not feeling well, I mean because of the long travel and with those zigzag roads they were woozy and even vomited a lot of times while the car was moving.

We stayed there for just a few minutes and continue with our trip, heading towards a place we expect to be something spectacular which could be equated to the beautiful Bali in Indonesia. Of course not really the same but perhaps the feelings of being in a pool located on top of the mountain with those beautiful mountains surrounding us.

Our second stopover was actually the municipality where our destination is located. We bought some fish and meat to cook and some grocery items and drinks. We also bought some medicines for an emergency since the area that we are heading to is quite far from the municipality proper although there were small shops or stores around.

And in just a few minutes we finally arrived at the endpoint of the day.

It was quite a small place but remarkable. After parking, we immediately head towards the area and found it really worth our time.
The swimming pool was greatly positioned at the edge of the mountain and at the other part, you can see also beautiful mountains. There were no buildings not even one. What you can see when you are there are just mountains.

Indeed the feeling was great, being communed back with nature after living in the city for years.
