Threetunetuesday - Let's go back to early 2000.

Happy Tuesday to all the music lovers of this community! As today is Tuesday, as I stated, it's time for #ttt or #threetunetuesday!

Snow patrol and can't help to feel that throwback feeling, the nostalgia. Remember those teenage stages, crushes, and getting swoon over foreign movies! As far as I remember, that was in early 2000, and darn! That was decades ago! During those times, there was no YouTube, Spotify, or other social media. What we have are song hits; who could relate? Lucky enough if it would be played on the local FM station by request!

Oh yeah, here are the three tunes that were hit during that time.

Only Hope by Mandy Moore (not the original singer)

Before Britney became famous, Mandy also got her first hit song, which I mentioned. This was even the theme song of the box office hit movie A walk to remember. who didn't cry after watching? Some critics might say that the plot was cliche, but still, I love this movie. I am sure, if I will be watching it again now, still I would shed some tears! 😂

It is also a Christian song that tells about faith, and believing in him as the only hope. In times when I felt down, I would play this song to somehow calm me.
Eh, there is always hope.

Broken Vow by Lara Fabian
Aside from the movie above, back in early 2000, this song was used too as a theme song for the famous Taiwanese Drama Meteor Garden which was aired here in the Philippines! It was then the F4 group was formed, Jerry Yan, Vic Chou, Ken Chu, and Vanness Wu.

Every teenager back then memorized this song, and that includes me! Though I wasn't blessed with a golden voice, my friends and I would often sing this in a duet while holding our song hits!
Not only that, we may don't have much money, but we made sure to save some pennies in order to buy posters! Yes, that us young ladies, what about the young men? Hahaha, they often had F4 Hairstyle!. Yet, because we are still students back then and there was a proper decorum especially with the hair. This leaves some of our schoolmates frustrated, lol.

Oh, I forgot to mention, but the lady in the movie was Barbie Hsu.

The last but not the least;

Toxic by Britney Spears

Hearing the first line, the first beat, it makes my shoulder shaken! Want to try? try to listen;

Baby, can't you see I'm calling?

If you checked on youtube, this song got 594M views, published 13 years ago! Well, it was not that accessible on cell phones way back then! However, the lyrics were SPG (needs strong parental guidance); as they say, our teacher would scold us every time they heard us singing this song! Nope, it was not in a Catholic school. Just teachers are conservative.

Speaking of Britney, I do hope she will launch a song again. She was a great singer, though. Maybe she got a hook into something that leads that wasn't good for her career!
