Aunque no soy llanera de nacimiento, sí soy del campo, de los valles de Aragua, y la verdad es que las costumbres del campo terminan pareciéndose mucho: la música, la forma de cocinar con leña, las historias y ese orgullo por nuestras raíces. En mi adolescencia yo alimentaba al ganado y recuerdo ver a los jinetes a caballo pasar sabaneando, llevando las vacas a las montañas. Esos recuerdos salen en mi mente cuando canto esta canción.Although I am not from the plains by birth, I am from the countryside, from the valleys of Aragua, and the truth is that country customs end up being very similar: the music, cooking with firewood, the stories, and that pride in our roots. In my adolescence, I fed the cattle and I remember seeing the horse riders passing by, herding the cows to the mountains. Those memories come to my mind when I sing this song.
