En ocasiones las personas experimentan situaciones desafortunadas que no pueden predecir; es evidente que ninguno quiere sufrir, sentir dolor o tristeza, pero la vida está llena de sorpresas que sin razón aparente llegan y golpean fuerte. Los seres humanos a pesar de todo han demostrado que pueden caer en el hoyo y tener la capacidad de salir de allí, incluso fortalecidos; siendo entre muchas una de las tantas cualidades que los caracterizan y si necesitan llorar, gritar, quejarse eso está bien, sin embargo, muchas veces lo ocultan muy dentro de sí para no afectar a otros sobre todo si son sus seres queridos.

Cuantas veces no le ha tocado a una mamá fingir felicidad frente a sus hijos para no transmitirles tristeza o decir que no tiene hambre solamente para que ellos tengan su pan aunque eso no refleja la realidad hay verdades tan duras que no son necesario decirles y menos a un niño y sobre todo si es tu hijo. Ante esto quizás surjan cuestionamiento sobre mentir cuando y como porque hay que decir siempre la verdad, pero una madre sabe todo lo que ella es capaz de aguantar y hacer por sus hijos. En medio de una devastadora tragedia te ves sola en medio de la nada sin techo, sin comida y en lo único que piensas es en proteger y arropar a los que amas.

Les dices aunque suene a una ilusión que todo estará bien y que esa tormenta pronto pasara, es tanta la Fe y la esperanza puesta en esas palabras que logras que en medio de tanta dificultad vean más el vaso medio lleno que vació. Hay realidades que de momento es mejor disfrazarlas hasta poder cambiarlas, que tan malo puede ser buscar darle una sonrisa a un pequeño niño en medio de tanta tristeza, así que sé la luz y la ilusión para todo aquel que esté en oscuridad hoy.

How many times has a mother had to pretend to be happy in front of her children so as not to convey her sadness, or say she isn’t hungry just so they can have their bread – even though that doesn’t reflect reality? There are truths so harsh that it isn’t necessary to tell them, especially to a child – and all the more so if it’s your own child. Faced with this, questions may arise about lying – when and how – because we’re always told to tell the truth, but a mother knows exactly what she is capable of enduring and doing for her children. In the midst of a devastating tragedy, you find yourself alone in the middle of nowhere, without a roof over your head or food, and the only thing on your mind is protecting and caring for those you love.

You tell them – even if it sounds like wishful thinking – that everything will be alright and that this storm will soon pass; there is so much faith and hope in those words that, in the midst of such difficulty, you help them to see the glass as half full rather than half empty. There are realities that, for the time being, are best disguised until we can change them. What’s so wrong with trying to bring a smile to a little child’s face amidst so much sadness? So be the light and the hope for everyone who is in darkness today.
