La autoridad reside en una persona que representa en muchos casos poder, quien manda y está en la parte más alta de la pirámide, es el jefe y también puede ser los padres de familia, el hermano mayor además de un maestro que puede ejercer cierta autoridad en determinado momento sobre todo en su labor como educador. Así se visualiza este concepto es lo ideal y conocimiento que se tiene de quien es una autoridad en esta vida; sin embargo, parece que en la práctica es muy malinterpretado este papel porque muchos lo desempeñan siendo autoritario en su actitud y lejos de ser respetado es hasta odiado.

Desde otro punto de vista cuando sabemos quién es la autoridad en nuestras vidas; estamos claro cuando recibir y acatar órdenes de quien la da sobre todo en el ámbito laboral y en el personal también por parte de papá, mamá, abuelos o tías recibimos alguna orden que viniendo de lo que conocemos como los mayores de la familia se les respeta lo que dicen o piden hacer.

Sin embargo, aunque hay costumbres y tradiciones que van acompañadas de esos valores inculcados durante la crianza siempre hay personas que van en otra dirección haciendo y diciendo cosas que los convierte en gente desmerecedora de respeto por ser déspotas, arrogantes, groseros e impositivos con sus órdenes.

No hay que confundir el poder de la autoridad con autoritarismo, se ordena desde el respeto, la amabilidad y la buena educación; y en otros casos como en la familia incluso desde el amor para que no se confundan los roles y fluya la comunicación, el trabajo en equipo así como cualquier otra actividad donde se requiera la presencia de una autoridad.

However, although there are customs and traditions that go hand in hand with the values instilled during our upbringing, there are always people who go in a different direction, doing and saying things that make them unworthy of respect because they are despotic, arrogant, rude, and overbearing with their orders.

We must not confuse the power of authority with authoritarianism; authority is exercised with respect, kindness, and good manners; and in other contexts, such as within the family, it is even exercised with love, so that roles are not confused and communication, teamwork, and any other activity requiring the presence of an authority figure can flow smoothly.
