Solo nos toca ver como poco a poco nuestros seres queridos y amigos huyen y solo llevan en su corazón y su mente los recuerdos de lo que era un país próspero, en sus manos las maletas que llevan parte de su hogar.

Por más de 10 años he visto como millones de personas logran escapar, logra huir para buscar una mejor calidad de vida para esa persona que se va y para su núcleo familiar, mis amigos y algunos familiares llevan sus maletas y se lamentan de no poder llevar dentro de ellas a toda su familia.

Esas maletas, en donde solo puedes llevar 32 kilos, está llena de todo lo que es importante para ese amigo o familiar venezolano: principalmente esas fotografías, documentos, algunos objetos de la familia, ropa. Es un tesoro que se guarda con cuidado, pues representa la conexión con el hogar perdido, si perdido porque ese es el sentimiento que embarga a todos mis amigos y familiares que huyen de la destrucción de un país, sienten que pierden su hogar y pierden su país, por eso digo que es algo que perdieron porque ellos me lo dijeron.

Parece mentira, pero esa maleta o cada una de esas maletas representan una historia de dolor y esperanza. Es la historia de miles de ciudadanos que han perdido su hogar, desde el primer momento que lo abandonaron, sin embargo, todos ellos solo estaban o están en la búsqueda para construir un nuevo futuro.

Todas las maletas desde hace más de 10 años están representados un símbolo, pero también la creación de una historia por tener una nueva vida alejada de nuestros seres queridos y amigos, y la calle donde te criaste, del trabajo que abandonaste, pero esa maleta también es un reflejo de la resiliencia, pero sobre todo de ese gran espíritu de lucha del venezolano que logra salir.

We just have to see how little by little our loved ones and friends flee and only carry in their hearts and minds the memories of what used to be a prosperous country, in their hands the suitcases that carry part of their home.

For more than 10 years I have seen how millions of people manage to escape, manage to flee in search of a better quality of life for the person who is leaving and for his or her family, my friends and some relatives carry their suitcases and regret not being able to carry their entire family inside them.

Those suitcases, where you can only carry 32 kilos, are full of everything that is important for that Venezuelan friend or relative: mainly those photographs, documents, some family objects, clothes. It is a treasure that is kept with care, because it represents the connection with the lost home, if lost because that is the feeling that overwhelms all my friends and relatives who flee from the destruction of a country, they feel they lose their home and lose their country, that is why I say it is something they lost because they told me so.

It seems unbelievable, but that suitcase or each one of those suitcases represents a story of pain and hope. It is the story of thousands of citizens who have lost their home, from the first moment they left it, however, all of them were or are only in the search to build a new future.

All the suitcases for more than 10 years are represented a symbol, but also the creation of a story of having a new life away from our loved ones and friends, and the street where you grew up, the job you left, but that suitcase is also a reflection of resilience, but above all of that great fighting spirit of the Venezuelan who manages to leave.
