The 103rd edition of the Ladies of Hive CONTEST has come to a close and a winner has been selected! It was difficult as all the entries were wonderful! We would like to thank everyone who participated and are glad that the invitations brought more women into our community!

Wow, there were so many good entries to this contest! I could easily have declared 30 winners this week. And once I picked the winners, I wasn't sure I had them in the right order as each piece of writing shines with its own unique light. So many of you shared your tears, disbelief, anger, and many opinions on the causes/solutions to world events as I reported. I was thrilled that some women in societies where the hijab is common shared their views and experiences, too. You have certainly broadened my horizons and given much food-for-thought in your writings!

I would highly urge everyone in the LadiesOfHive community to read the work of your sisters here — not just the winners, listed below, but some of the other entries, too. It's a great way to get to know the other women and to learn a bit from each other as well.

Thank you very much friend @jamerussell. As a Venezuelan, I realized that raising our voices is the best way to convey our feelings to the largest aid organizations that are never aware of the problems within a country, if we don't speak up they will never know and I I love being able to help and see that there are already reactions from these large organizations and I know that these laws will eliminate them because they are laws of men, not of God.

I'm just sitting here going through the community feed and reading the contributions right now and am actually a bit teary again.

I just can't believe the content and the incredible humans putting it up here.

You know... I always thought it was important to share because this was the only way we could open up discussion, learn from each other and maybe actually change things.

But there is far, far more to sharing about these kinds of topics!

When a person reads this content and the thoughts and perspectives of there people in the world... it not only gives one hope that there are others out there who care and who are trying to "fight the good fight"... but it makes one feel so much less alone in the world.

Even "support" like this can both heal and prevent trauma, by the way. Because it's the isolation of the experience that crates the trauma and not the experience itself.

So even by being brave enough to ask these questions, and being brave enough to answer them publicly... may not only be helping people survive situations... but to also heal them. Societies. Us.

I hope this makes sense, because it's pretty f*ckin' amazing.

Very difficult topic and I would totally have avoided it. I'm so glad @brittandjosie encouraged me to engage and participate now! I've learned a ton. And it's really helped me enormously as well.

But this is how participation, open discussion and service "work". And it's often sitting with the hardest stuff that allows the most relief when it is brought to "light" ! ❤️

Just love this community. Gushing a bit - but this usually just doesn't happen. Not this coherently and this publicly. 💥

I am pleased and surprised to see my name among the winners. It was a very sensitive topic for me because I live in such a society where I see such cases more often.
