Does The Market Affect Your Hive Activity?

The crypto market being in a downtrend can affect people in a lot of ways.

Something I've Noticed...

Now before I get into this I feel like I need to say that I do not think this is max pain for crypto. I don't think we're technically in a bear market. I think we're seeing the effects of the whole LUNA and UST collapse play out alongside a lot of uncertainty in all markets, not just crypto. What I do see is some sideways, or maybe even upward activity for the next week or so before another dip hits. Also I'm not a professional trader and am usually wrong about market predictions so take that for whatever it may be worth.

Anyway - something I've noticed is... When the crypto market is down, Hive activity seems to slow down a lot. I have not looked at the actual data to back this up - I'm just making an observation that, at least in terms of posting, activity seems to slow when we are in a downtrend.

Looking at the recent LeoFinance Engagement report by @abh12345, I noticed that there's been more commenting as of late. This is a good thing for many reasons. Despite posting seeming to take a slump in down markets, engagement is still up.

Again - I have to make it clear that I am purely just making an observation from my point of view. Maybe I'm totally wrong.

I think this is mainly related to less news about what's happening with crypto, and more focus on price action. I regularly check websites like CoinTelegraph and CoinDesk for news, and I've also noticed that a lot of the articles about actual news-related stuff start to slow down in down markets. The attention always seems to shift focus to what's happening with crypto prices.

There's nothing wrong with checking in on the price of your favorite cryptocurrencies every day, and there's also nothing wrong with writing about crypto price action. It just gets to be a bit overwhelming when everyone is doing exactly that. As someone who has been in crypto since 2015, I've seen enough price related content to make my eyes bleed. I don't hate it, I just much prefer news-related crypto content.

People always say the most development and building happens when prices are down. Developers are hard at work coding so they don't have to go work at McDonalds, and content creators are hard at work creating more useful content.

We don't want to end up like our bois Khal and Neal in the photo above, getting that bread at the ole golden arches. This is why it's important to continue creating content even when the prices are down and you may be in a slump. Even when there's not a lot of news out there, there's always something to write about. Whether it be fundamentals, educational content, or even something totally unrelated to crypto.

This is the beautiful thing about the broad spectrumm of Hive. There's no corner you get backed into that says you can only create certain types of content. There's no limit on what you can create. Down markets are arguably the best time to be creating content, because you can earn even more HIVE and HBD. Plus if you're posting in communities like LeoFinance, you're earning LEO tokens.

Take a deep breathe. Zoom out a little bit. Look at the bigger picture here. It's not all about crypto prices. It's more about building your stacks for the next big market rally. Set yourself up for financial freedom. Buckle down and create good content. The rewards will come in due time, even when it may feel less hopeful.

Do crypto prices affect your activity on Hive?

Let's talk about it.

5 years this has been happening to me, it started here, around people that are still here. Homeland security has done nothing at all, they are not here to protect us. Dont we pay them to stop shit like this? The NSA, CIA, FBI, Police and our Government has done nothing. Just like they did with the Havana Syndrome, nothing. Patriot Act my ass. The American government is completely incompetent. The NSA should be taken over by the military and contained Immediately for investigation. I bet we can get to the sources of V2K and RNM then. https://peakd.com/gangstalking/@acousticpulses/electronic-terrorism-and-gaslighting--if-you-downvote-this-post-you-are-part-of-the-problem

I added few more chunks to my HP, it was fun to get when Hive price is down to .45. But, Hive's internal market hive-engine, tribaldex, leodex, and dtool, they all provided additional benefits buying and selling increased more people were buying hive-engine based tokens for tips, investment, and power ups.

So needless to say it affected it any way, we are writing, posting, and voting like we do all the time.

Happy Hiving

It sure do affect activities on Hive, first of all, you are not wrong with the price action news. I mean most of my post has the crypto crash info in it. Nothing matters any more when the market price is crashing. Luna took over the show with its own crash. But then, life has to go on.

As for Hive, the value has gone down, post rewards will reduce, this may discourage some people to post. They feel they are rewarded less. But I have learnt to focus more on the HP during Dip season and more of HBD during pump season. This way I balance my feelings and get motivated to post more.

I very much don't see the crypto prices affecting my activity, which is commenting.

I have seen times like these come and go, at least once, back in 2018.

It's the best time to be on hive, with the prices being down, that means there's more token issued to active users.

It takes this kind of perspective to see that one needs to do even more than usual in this period.

Yes, you are right.

These are the times that massive wealth can be accumulated before the bull market.

Just keep showing up everyday.

I think the sentiment on the market affects thousands of people. Sometimes there are not even Play2Earn game players on a depressing crypto day. Yet, I push myself stay active even when half of my portfolio melt due to LUNA FUD 🤣

I've noticed that as well - not only in terms of posting but in terms of voting or how active people are in HIVE.

Agree - I decided to "ride the Bear", look forwards and continue creating value as much as I can.

Thanks for your post, @l337m45732!

Not really, but I decided to be patient and hope for the best! I never invest more than I'm prepared to lose. It's going to get better! 💪👍

Do crypto prices affect your activity on Hive?

My thinking is that whether price is 10c or $3.00, I still can't live off my current stake, so who cares haha.

Just still gotta stack stack stack no matter the price until I get to that point.

PS. Hope you're feeling a bit better ;)

In a way it does but most likely not in the way most think. It makes me do more because I understand I get more hive and more people most likely left thus the same funds get divided up to less people!

Lower prices usually having me ramp up my activity on the hive. I don't necessarily but it with fiat but I work harder at the grind. Usually less people so rewards are better.

Well to be frank, my focus is on collecting as much as I can.. I don't bother for the prices now..

Nice article and I do see more comments as people are probably stressed out and talking to other users usually help to cope with stress.

Nice read once again and I am sure you have invested your wealth in a way that allows you to sleep at night 😉

The hive market really affect those who might want to withdraw but it is a good time to accumulate HP and HBD through curations. Content creators are on the high side of benefiting from the current market

Over the uears I onserved it to. Well, at least I had the hunch. For one, there’s simply less good stuff posted, and second the rewards you get are just smaller. In FIAT that is.

In the past for me that meant I lost interest and checked in less frequently. Today is different for me as I’m focussing a lot more on commenting than just lurking and once in a while posting ✌️

Thank you for this. It is the best time indeed to get buzzy as Hivebuzz puts it. It's okay to feel a bit down with what's happening around but that doesn't mean we let our world stop and waste our time away.

Red or green, good or bad, up or down-- there is always something to write about, which is why I'm here posting and commenting. I don't understand how market activity should determine why people post or not.

At the moment my earnings aren't what I want them to be, but they are guaranteed to be 0.000 HIVE if I'm not here.

Although I provide liquidity to a couple of diesel pools at Tribaldex, I can't add more liquidity if I'm not here. I can't re-invest LP Rewards into diesel pools if I'm not here.

Even if I stay away from LeoFinance-- all that RED-- there is a world of other Hive communities where I can find refuge until market conditions improve.

If I stay away from LeoFinance and Hive, it should be because I can answer the question WEN MOON with RIGHT NOW!!!!!. Until I can give that answer, I am here.

Exactly!! Being rich doesn't need to mean the same thing as being wealthy, but it has to lead you to the best kind of money any of us can have. After all, what good is being rich if 95% of it is spent on prescription medication and medical bills? There's no freedom in that.
