Hi,

finally had time to sit down and watch all episodes of "What If" from Marvel and I'll say right away that I was very interesting to watch them. I myself did not expect that only interesting stories can come up from the writers. In this review, I will briefly summarize the first three episodes because I thought it was necessary to divide it all somehow.

Ep 01 WHAT IF... CAPTAIN CARTER WERE THE FIRST AVENGER?

Let's start with the first episode, which is what would happen if not our dear Steve Rogers became Captain America, and his love Peggy. I find this episode even successful, first of all, it was interesting to watch that despite everything the two of them wanted to be with each other without looking at who became who. Also, it was very interesting to watch only slight changes in case Steve was not Captain America. In addition, Howard Stark created something along the lines of Iron Man's first costume so that the young man could participate in the battle. The only thing I feel bad about is the flattening of Red Skull's main enemy. He was expressionless and more of a person who means absolutely nothing because the moment he is about to summon his "Champion" he is simply killed by him. I honestly believed that he would try to mate with some intelligent life form, but oh well.

Considering how everything was written and drawn, I would rate this episode a solid 6/10. On the one hand, it was nice to see how Peggy would approach the transformation, but on the other hand, she was practically like Steve, which left something missing.

Ep 02 WHAT IF... T'CHALLA BECAME A STAR-LORD?

I enjoyed the second episode much more. It was amazing to see T'Challe as Star-Lord. The episode itself starts off the same way as Guardians of the Galaxy, with a masked figure trying to steal one of the Infinity Stones, only this time it's not Quill, and it's all just because by complete accident the wrong person was kidnapped as a kid! I like the contrast between the old and new Star-Lord, here everything goes very easily, every plan is well thought out and the mercenaries do not fight each other and instead work together, in addition, we can see characters such as Thanos, who no longer wants to destroy half the universe because T'Challa explained it to him well that it is not the best plan to help the world. In this episode, the main antagonist is the Collector and here I no longer felt the discomfort of a character that doesn't matter. I really enjoyed the guided tour of his collection.

For me, this episode could easily be rated 9/10. It was funny, there was a lot of action and Gomorrah's sister was playing the main violin, which was a nice change.

Ep 3 WHAT IF... THE WORLD LOST ITS MIGHTIEST HEROES?

The third and final episode for today was a nice refresher, as Marvel could have taken the easy way out and just switched up people's roles in each episode. However, in the third episode, we were able to see that that's not the only thing going on here. The episode itself is hard for me to judge because the idea of creating a world in which the Avengers never came into being would be very interesting, but the execution leaves a lot to be desired, because each of the superheroes is simply massacred, and at the very end we find out that it was all done by a person whose only reason was the death of his daughter, who was fighting for her country. I think this episode could have been done much better, but I have to admit that it was very cool to watch the mysterious deaths of superheroes such as the Hulk, who should be indestructible. Unless he gets blown up from the inside.

Overall I rate this episode 7/10, it was very nice to watch but it lacked a good ending. Also, the story itself, because of the fact that it had to be told in about 30 minutes, was so truncated that it was strange sometimes to watch how easily massacred are people who have come this far in another universe

Summary

And that's all for today, overall, the first three episodes were really good. At the beginning I didn't know what to expect, but I liked that each episode tells a different story, so you can treat each episode as if it were independent of the other. However, I know that it is not completely true and you can find out about it by reading my next review or by watching this animation.

It's good to see this review to be honest. I tried watching it but ended up leaving halfway through. My friends tried to make me watch different episodes and again I wasn't interested, I'd imagine I'd like this show more if it wasn't part of another 30+ project that doesn't end. So that makes an 8 more like 5-6 for me.
