Hello amazing Hive Family!

Today I am showing you my best insects pictures. I have never had a macro lens and I have never gone out looking for insects to shoot but a few times it just happened that I had a close encounter with our tiny little friends!

Mantis

The first photo of the post is an European Mantis I met on a summer day in Mallorca during one of my season working in a hotel as a professional photographer.

It was really beautiful! Look, how cute! And it was always looking at the camera, what a model!

Butterfly

This beautiful butterfly was taking a break from flying right on a client's arm, also in Mallorca at the same hotel where I found the mantis.

Hummingbird hawk-moth

When I first saw this little friend I was quite puzzled. It was the first and only time I have seen one and I had no idea what it was! It also happened working as a photographer in Mallorca, but different hotel.

It is a Hummingbird hawk-moth and it really looks like the insect version of a hummingbird!

Here you can see it in action at dinner time!

Bee my friend

These last three shots I took when I was at home back in Italy relaxing on the couch we have in the terrace.

Our tiny hairy friend looked really exhausted and needed to recharge its batteries, so I decided to go and fetch him some honey. I think he liked it!
