A peaceful Sunday with a simple meal made from fresh vegetables from the home garden.

Hello everyone. How are you today? I hope all is well with you and your family. A peaceful Sunday under the sweltering heat calls for the comfort of a simple indoor life. It’s another day that my wife and I are raising our granddaughter and autistic son at our countryside home. We live a simple life with simple meals cooked by my wife. We started with a simple breakfast—just bread and milk. For lunch, my wife prepared a simple meal. She picked fresh vegetables from the home garden to make stir-fried water spinach with oyster sauce, served with Thai-style shrimp paste chili dip and the omelet. For today's water spinach, she only used the ones grown in several 12-inch plastic pots, as the water spinach planted in the ground isn't ready to be harvested for cooking yet.

She also uses yardlong beans in her stir-fried water spinach with oyster sauce. The yardlong beans plants are old and dying, so there are only a few left to harvest. And now, only the small yardlong beans seedlings remain in the home garden.

She also picked some chili peppers from the garden to use for making Thai-style shrimp paste chili dip.

All the vegetables this time.

Let's take a look at the lunch my wife today, This time the dishes are really simple, so I didn't include any instructions. I'm pretty sure you can just look at the photos and figure out how to make them yourself.

I didn't take a photos of the omelet. As for dinner, my wife hasn't cooked it yet, but she is going to make noodles. These are the stories and photos I want to share for this post. Invite everyone to see and enjoy my stories and photos. Please forgive any errors/mistakes. Have a great day. See you next time. Thank you for your support and visiting my post. Bye 🤗

Wow... That's so fresh from the garden. I can imagine the taste as I love that kind of simple cooking hehe. That kind of plant here in the Philippines is called kangkong. It's easy to plant and easy to grow as it doesn't need a lot of maintenance. Also the long string beans, is called sitaw. It's good to see how we have common plants hihi. But the paste your wife cook is new to me. I thought it's monggo, as it looks the same. 😅 But I think it's not. Hehe. By the way, I enjoyed your blog. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you for sharing the names of these vegetables from your country. My paste contains only chili peppers, shrimp paste, garlic, and pork rinds. Have a great day.

It's really awesome to see that you have your garden and the garden that you made were the source of your food, not everyday but whenever the vegetables were ripe enough. I haven't got any garden yet but I was planning to make one someday so that I can do the same as yours.
