A Stanley Kubrick masterpiece that feels so current, it feels so current today because it has aged so very, very well.

Full Metal Jacket shows us how war can corrupt people, even without having been in it. Just the concept of war and having to prepare to go to one can make all your ideas change and your perception change; the training to go and do what is done there is enough to change you.

The stories in full Metal Jacket feel so real, you can feel like that could happen to anyone who enlists in the military. I think it's one of the best war movies ever made. Well, there would be no doubt that this is where the inspiration for new films of this style comes from.

Set in the Vietnam War, it shows or tries to tell the story of the American soldiers who were fighting in that country. Visually Full Metal Jacket is so attractive that it is simply exciting, it has camera movements, shots and sequences that are really a delight to the eye.

However, I feel that the movie at the beginning offers us much more than it is able to deliver or being very demanding I think in the first part of the movie it reaches such a high part and from there it goes down although it reaches so high that even this drop is too good.

I'm talking about the training that aspiring Marines get to join the Marines and go fight in Vietnam. A chubby corporal who is the worst qualified in almost all physical activities, but with a huge talent with the sniper.

He along with the trainer is who takes all the honors because their performances are really well qualified personally I think they are the two best characters in the film, it is a pity that they do not continue for the second and third act.

In a moment of total madness that fat man shoots his trainer and then shoots himself in one of the most raw scenes of the movies, I personally think that this kind of scenes are not made very often anymore and it is really enjoyable.

Without a doubt the movie is very good, but as always there are loose ends that could have been avoided or could have been handled much better. For example there are scenes or even dialogues that perhaps are for filler or that are in a context not equivalent to the film. There are scenes in a newsroom, another scene where you see a kid stealing a camera and then a bad martial arts skit, which just made me wonder why include scenes that are unnecessary.

Or even some scenes that seem to repeat in one war movie after another and that apparently every war movie has to take you through a part where everything will be on fire and that will be the sign that the movie is already finished.

Full Metal Jacket is a highly recommended film that is a delight that could have been much, much better.

Una obra maestra de Stanley Kubrick, que se siente tan actual, se siente tan hoy pues ha envejecido muy pero muy bien.

Full Metal Jacket nos muestra como la guerra puede corromper a las personas, incluso sin haber estado en ella. Solo el concepto de guerra y el hecho de tener que prepararse para ir a una puede hacer que todas tus ideas cambien y que tu percepción cambie; el entrenamiento para ir y hacer lo que ahí se hace es suficiente para cambiarte.

Las historias en full Metal Jacket se sienten tan reales, podes sentir que eso podría pasarle a cualquier que se aliste en el ejército. Creo que es una de las mejores películas de guerra que de hayan hecho en la historia. Pues no le cabría ninguna duda que de acá de inspiren para hacer nuevas películas de este estilo.

Ambientada en la guerra de Vietnam nos muestra o trata de contar la historia de los soldados Estadounidenses que estuvieron peleando en ese país. Visualmente Full Metal Jacket es tan atractiva que es simplemente excitante, ha movimientos de cámaras, planos y secuencias que son realmente una delicia al ojo.

No obstante, siento que la película al principio nos ofrece mucho más de lo que es capaz de entregarnos o siendo muy exigente creo que en la primera parte de la película llega a una parte tan alta y de ahí va hacia abajo aunque llega tan alto que incluso está caída es demasiada buena.

Hablo del entrenamiento que reciben los aspirantes a entrar a los Marines e ir a combatir a Vietnam. Un regordete cabo quien es el peor calificado en casi todas las actividades físicas, pero con un talento descomunal con el francotirador.

El junto al entrenador es quien se lleva todo los honores pues sus actuaciones son realmente bien calificadas en lo personal pienso que son los dos mejores personajes de la película, es una lástima que no continúen para el segundo y tercer acto.

En un momento de total locura ese gordo le disparará a su entrenador y acto seguido se disparará a si mismo en una de las escenas más crudas de las películas, creo en lo personal que ese tipo de escenas ya no se hacen muy a menudo y es realmente disfrutable.

Sin duda le película es muy buena, pero como siempre hay cabos sueltos que pudieron haberse evitado o que pudieron haberse manejado mucho mejor. Por ejemplo hay escenas o incluso diálogos que quizás están para hacer relleno o que están en un contexto no equivalente al film. Hay escenas en una sala de redacción, otra escena donde se ve que un niño roba una cámara y acto seguido se hace una mala parodia de artes marciales, que simplemente me hizo preguntar el porque incluir escenas que son innecesarias.

O incluso algunos escenarios que parecen repetir en una y otra película de guerra y que al parecer toda película de guerra tiene que llevarte por una parte en la que todo estará incendiado y que será la señal de que la película ya está terminado.

Full Metal Jacket es una película altamente recomendable es un deleite que incluso pudo haber sido mucho pero mucho mejor.
