Is the world overpopulated and what can we do to solve the issue? | QOTW Season 10.4

In order to understand the world's population problem, it is first necessary to define the term "population problem" and determine why it is considered a problem. Some people believe that the term "population problem" refers to a country's high population growth, which is not necessarily the case. But approaching the population problem in such a narrow manner is uncomfortably restrictive and, more importantly, inaccurate.

In this world, the population problem is defined as the misalignment between demographic trends and social and economic advancement, as well as all of the social and economic difficulties that result from this misalignment. It is critical to note that the population problem can be addressed at multiple levels, including the national, household, and individual levels of organization. They are conceptually distinct, but they provide results that are not dissimilar between the two ways. the two are virtually indistinguishable from one another

Preventing excessive fertility to protect one's health and ensuring that one has as many children as they can raise for the family's welfare, for example, are two entirely different things. Minimizing the rate of overpopulation in a country, on the other hand, is one thing entirely. However, if one of them is set as a goal and achieved, the others will naturally follow suit and do the same.

There are more people on the earth today than at any other time in history. There are 80 million new people added to the world's population every year. According to specialists, this rhythm is rapid and perhaps hazardous. There are 7.7 billion individuals on the earth at the present time. It is expected that by 2022, the number will have increased to 8 billion, and by 2050, the number will have increased to 10 billion. In the last two centuries, the world's population has increased by a factor of seven, according to some estimates.

A looming demographic crisis, combined with a climate calamity, experts say, means that the world's population should not continue to rise indefinitely. Following the lead of America and England, ecologists and demographers in Europe came to accept this point of view.

Many high school kids have come to the streets in various countries around the world to call on governments and adults to "be more attentive to the earth they will leave to themselves," according to the United Nations Environment Program. There were actions all across the world, from Canada and the United States to Belgium and France.

UN population experts have stated that, given the social and economic conditions that have resulted in multiple wars and political crises throughout the world, families in some countries are already reaching the two-child limit, and that this trend should continue throughout the world.

Parallel to the rise of the environmental crisis is the progression of the "demographic catastrophe." Many non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and environmental organizations are beginning to suggest that the most effective method to protect the environment is to limit the number of people on the planet.

Despite the fact that it took millennia for the human population to reach one billion, the world's population has increased by a factor of seven in the last two centuries. This shows that after 1800, the rate of population expansion accelerated dramatically. It is expected that the human population will grow to be seven times the size of the Earth's current population, emit seven times the amount of greenhouse gases, and occupy seven times the amount of space previously reserved for other living things.

When 15,300 experts from around the world assembled at the United Nations General Assembly in 2017, they issued a grave warning about the state of the planet. Following this warning, the "Association Demographie Responsable" movement gained popularity, initially in Anglo-Saxon countries such as the United States and England, and then in European countries like as Belgium and France, before spreading throughout the world.

The 'Responsible Population Association,' which is an acronym for 'Responsible Population Movement,' advocates for a global population growth rate of no more than 70 million people per year, followed by a gradual reduction in population.

In the opinion of Yves Cochet, a French environmentalist and former Minister, the country's current family policy, which favors three children, should be changed. The first child's assistance should be maintained, but the second child's assistance should be reduced, and the third child's assistance should be cut to an extremely low level. It is not necessary for us to have extra children from other nations, said the couple. Authorities, on the other hand, prefer a greater number of young people who will work and consume more.

Report on population change by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), titled "The Power of Choice," urged everyone to make an informed decision in 2018 on how to continue their generation while taking global realities into mind.

A global trend toward two children per woman, according to experts, and the UN's suggestion is more effective than any national policy, they argue. Improvement is still needed in countries where the habit of having a big family is still practiced, such as Africa, according to the findings of the research.

According to the poll, Africa is home to 38 of the 43 countries where women have at least four children per woman on the continent. According to the United Nations Population Fund, education for girls and boys, as well as their sensitivity, would be essential in overcoming this issue.

Yeah, we need to focus on the issue. As the global population expands, so do the demands for water, land, forests, and fossil fuels, all of which come at a high cost to already endangered flora and animals.

This is a very good and detailed post as it has really addressed the issue of overpopulation and solution already emerge but action is what is left now so that they would be able to control the challenges surrounding the earth. I also believe making awareness to each individual on how to reduce the control of birth by applying family planning in every homes.
