This week's posting topics is titled “if you could” and while there were a lot of amazing options, I chose to answer option four which says;

If you could commit any crime at all and get away with it what would the crime be and why do you choose it? Extra bonus points for describing how you would do it and get away with it.

I wish I could claim to be a saint and say that I have never imagined committing a crime but that would be a big lie because, for the longest period, my mind would run around imagining different crimes and what I would do if I was in a position to commit one.

If I were asked this question a few years back, I think the only crime that would come to my mind to commit would be assassination and I would have probably assassinated all the politicians in my country because they are awful people with a whole elaborate plan which I had.

While most people would wait for an event to assassinate them, I planned on spending a few months studying their movements and then striking when they least expect it and yeah, I wouldn’t do It alone because I’ll raise funds from these corrupt politicians by promising them to assassinate their rivals and not only pay a team to work with me but also their security, I know how my country works and with the right motivation and money, I would easily achieve this but, that was then because right now I have realized that the problem isn’t just from the politicians and the loop would only continue.

Now, in recent times the only crime I have imagined committing is a robbery and I wouldn’t come here saying “I am doing it because I want to help others”, I won’t use it to help anyone and the robbery would be for my own selfish reasons, the selfish reason being that I want to be rich, simple.

What would my plan be going into this robbery?

Well, I have a bit of an added advantage being that I studied criminology and I know how most of the intelligence agents think since most of the top dogs in the field lectured me.

Also, because of how incompetent people in my country are, most of the systems that should be put in place aren’t, there are no cameras in most places, there isn’t a number to call to report a crime, and many other gaps that would help my robbery go smoothly, so yeah.

The first thing I will do is get a group of people to work with me, now I know a bunch of people that my country has screwed; people who have tried to make an honest living but haven’t been able to so those are the people I will be going for.

Next would be acquiring weapons and this is easy because even though it is illegal to own a firearm in my country, there is a whole black market and I am opportune to know someone who can help me in this part.

Now for the plan; my target for this robbery would be the central bank of Nigeria but I don’t plan on just attacking there instead I will set ablaze all the other banks in my state.

Why would I do this if you may ask?

The goal is to create enough chaos and by doing this, all the authorities would rush to these places to control what is happening, now mind you, we don’t have a lot of intelligence agents so this might be hard on them and while they are busy, we attack the CBN and by my research, there are just about 4 policemen that are guarding the whole place.

To successfully commit this crime, I have it in mind that there might be casualties so I will be prepared to kill anyone who tries anything funny which might seem heartless but it will be for my greater good.

After committing this crime, the goal is to leave the state, and no, I am not dumb enough to leave through the toll gate but instead, I will use the rivers around my state as an escape route.

I will probably move somewhere in Nigeria while telling my other team members that I am in another area to create a diversion just in case they are stupid enough to get caught and I will leave a low-key life for a few years till I can leave my country.

Obviously, this isn't a foolproof plan and things might go sideways but if all things work well, I will be a millionaire at the end of this.
