In this opportunity I'm going to tell you tooooodaaaaaa the story of how Púa got sick, his diagnosis and recovery. As it is quite long I will try to summarize it, so let's start 🐺🌸

Hola hola mi gente linda de Hive Pets ❤ ️ espero que sus peluditos estén en plena forma, sanos y lindos.

En esta oportunidad voy a contarles tooooodaaaa la historia de cómo se enfermó Púa, su diagnóstico y recuperación. Cómo es bastante larga voy a tratar de resumirla, así que empezamos 🐺🌸

Well this started in January. That month Púa's annual vaccines were due, but since I didn't have the money to pay for them, I had "the great idea" to take her to a "free" day of misión nevado (for those who read me from the outside it's like a low cost veterinary care and animal protection organization).

At first it all seemed very nice. The people who work there are very attentive to the pets, but the problem is that they often don't know what they are doing.

To be completely honest, it was partly my fault, because I didn't complain in time when I saw that from the same injector they were distributing the dewormer for all the dogs.

Bueno esto empezó en Enero. Ese mes tocaban las vacunas anuales de Púa, pero como no tenía el dinero para pagarle las vacunas, se me ocurrió "la gran idea" de llevarla a una jornada "gratuita" de misión nevado (para los que me leen de afuera es como una organización de atención veterinaria y protección animal de bajo costo.

Al principio todo parecía muy bonito. La gente que trabaja allí es muy atenta con las mascotas, pero el problema es que muchas veces no saben lo que hacen.

Para ser completamente honesta, la culpa fue mía en parte, pues no reclamé a tiempo cuando vi que de una misma inyectadora estaban repartiendo el desparasitante para todos los perros.

But that was not the worst of it. I thought that all the vaccines would be free, but no, they were not. The canine sextuple combo had a cost of 15$ and what was free was the "deworming" and the rabies vaccine.

The result was that the next day, Saturday, Púa started with fever and diarrhea... I wanted to kill myself.

Pero eso no fue lo peor. Yo pensé que todas las vacunas serían gratuitas, pero pues no. El combo de séxtuple canina tenía un costo de 15$ y lo que era gratuito fueron la "desparacitacion" y la vacuna de la rabia.

El resultado fue que a partir del día siguiente, sábado, Púa empezó con fiebre y diarrea… osea me quería matar

That weekend I had a pretty bad time, so on early Monday I was at the vet with Púa. The doctor checked her and sent her for tests, but the next appointment would be on Wednesday afternoon. I didn't think so, but since I had no other choice I tried to keep a positive attitude.

Fortunately I got some work done early Monday morning and had enough for the tests, so I went to the nearest veterinary lab, which in my case is about a 30 minute bus ride away.

The tests included a test for flea disease, which I looked up the next day, and unfortunately, it came back positive.

Ese fin de semana la pasé bastante mal, así que el lunes temprano estaba en el veterinario con Púa. La doctora la revisó y mando a hacerle exámenes, pero que la próxima consulta sería el miércoles en la tarde. No me pareció, pero como no tenía de otra traté de mantener una actitud positiva.

Afortunadamente el lunes temprano cobré unos trabajos y tenía suficiente para los exámenes, así que fui al laboratorio veterinario más cercano, que en mi caso está como a 30 minutos en autobús.

Los exámenes incluían una prueba para la enfermedad de la pulga, la cuál busqué al día siguiente, y lamentablemente, salió positiva.

I was terrified to death, I wanted to run and take Púa to a medical specialist because I didn't know if this disease was fatal or what its implications were and I still had to wait another day until I got an answer.

Luckily, I am in a WhatsApp group of Husky owners and they were very kind giving me all their advice and being attentive to my baby.

The next day, my husband asked for the day off to accompany us to the vet in the afternoon. As it turned out, the doctor had twisted her ankle and there would be no appointment. By now Púa had lost weight and was still suffering from diarrhea and fever.

I couldn't wait. I took Púa to the vet where the tests had been done and there I got the diagnosis. He had parasitosis and that activated the tick disease. He was prescribed a lot of medicines that, thank God 🙏🏻🙏🏻 I was able to buy.

Yo estaba muerta de terror, quería correr y llevar a Púa a algún médico especialista pues no sabía si esa enfermedad era mortal o cuáles eran sus implicaciones y aún debía esperar otro día hasta tener respuesta.

Por suerte, estoy en un grupo de WhatsApp de dueños de Huskies y ellos fueron muy amables dándome todos sus consejos y estando al pendiente de mi bebé.

Al día siguiente, mi esposo pidió el día libre para acompañarnos al veterinario en la tarde. Pues resultó que la doctora se había doblado el tobillo y no habría consulta. A estas alturas Púa había perdido peso y seguía con diarrea y fiebre.

Yo no podía esperar. Llevé a Púa al veterinario donde le habían hecho los exámenes y allí me dieron el diagnóstico. Tenía parasitosis y eso le activó la enfermedad de la garrapata. Le recetaron un montón de medicamentos que, gracias a Dios 🙏🏻🙏🏻 pude comprar.

The recovery was slow but progressive. The most difficult were the first few days when I had to watch the amount of water he drank and the amount of food he ate. However, I learned many useful things about how to take care of a convalescent puppy.

For example, I learned how to make ice cream / chicken feet jelly. Chicken feet have a lot of benefits even for us, as they increase platelets, provide collagen and help with the bones.

I will show you that recipe in another post, but I leave you a little picture so you can see how it looks like gusta❤️

La recuperación fue lenta pero progresiva. Lo más difícil fueron los primeros días en donde debía vigilar la cantidad de agua que tomaba y las cantidades de comida que ingería. Sin embargo, aprendí muchas cosas útiles sobre cómo cuidar a un perrito convaleciente.

Por ejemplo, aprendí a hacer heladitos / gelatina de patas de pollo. Las patas de pollo tienen muchísimos beneficios incluso para nosotros, pues suben mucho las plaquetas, aportan colágeno y ayudan con los huesos

Esa receta se las enseñaré en otro post, para no desviarme, pero les dejo una fotito para que vean como les gusta❤️

During the whole recovery Púa did not go for a walk as such, but I did take her down to the patio of my building for about 10 minutes to stretch her legs, as she was without vaccines, she could be exposed to the wave of distemper in Caracas.

Anyway, if I had to go to my mom's house with Puá (for my birthday for example) I paid my cab round trip because there was no other way.

But even when I was inside the house, my poor baby got sick just when I was upside down. Twice she vomited out of nowhere, but fortunately as soon as she got sick, she was gone.

Durante toda la recuperación Púa no salió pasear como tal, pero si la bajaba unos 10 minutos al patio de mi edificio para que estirara las patas, pues al estár sin vacunas, podía estar expuesta a la ola de moquillo que hay en Caracas.

De todas formas, si debía ir a casa de mi mamá con Puá (para mí cumpleaños por ejemplo) pagaba mi taxi ida y vuelta porque no quedaba de otra.

Pero aún estando dentro de casa, mi pobre bebé se puso malita justo cuando estaba levantado cabeza. En dos ocasiones le dió vomito de la nada, pero afortunadamente así como le dió, se fue.

After practically three months, my baby girl was 100% recovered so we could vaccinate her and go for her walks again.

The doctor fell in love with Púa and gave me lots of advice and explanations on how to take care of my baby girl with this condition that could become active at any moment.

After so much waiting, last March 3, I vaccinated my little girl and and after waiting 5 more days, she was ready for her first walk 🎉🥳🎉.That afternoon left me armless but she was too happy and so was I ❤️❤️❤️

Luego de prácticamente tres meses, mi bebita estuvo 100% recuperada para poder vacunarla y salir nuevamente a darle sus paseos.

La doctora quedó enamorada de Púa y me dió muchos consejos y explicaciones para saber cómo cuidar a mi bebita con esta condición que podría activarse en cualquier momento

Luego de tanta espera el pasado 3 de marzo vacune a mí niña y después de esperar 5 días más, estuvo lista para su primer paseo 🎉🥳🎉Esa tarde me dejó sin brazo pero ella estaba demasiado feliz y yo también ❤️❤️❤️

And well, that was the whole story of Pua and her recovery ❤️‍🩹 fortunately she didn't have such a bad time because Simba has grown a lot and together they play and have a great time chasing and biting each other everywhere.

Y bueno, esa fue toda la historia de Púa y su recuperación ❤️‍🩹 afortunadamente no la pasó tan mal porque Simba ha crecido mucho y juntos juegan y la pasan muy bien persiguiéndose y mordiéndose por todos lados.

I say goodbye giving you this reflection NEVER BE TOUGH WITH THE HEALTH OF YOUR CHILDREN (applies to humans and furry) it would have been cheaper for me to wait to have the money and vaccinate her in a good place, because between doctors and medicines I spent much more than 15$ 🤦🏻‍♀️

Me despido dándoles está reflexión NUNCA SEAN TACAÑOS CON LA SALUD DE SUS NIÑOS (aplica para humanos y peludos) me hubiera salido más barato esperar a tener el dinero y vacunarla en un buen lugar, pues entre doctores y medicinas gasté mucho más de 15$ 🤦🏻‍♀️
