The excitement of Day One! 😃

Empezó el nuevo curso escolar en Cuba (2023-2024) y también fue el primer día de escuela y el comienzo de un nuevo periodo en la educación de María Claudia. Este año mi niña terminó el círculo infantil y después de los dos meses de vacaciones ya comenzó la etapa de prescolar. El grado preescolar es crucial para desarrollar las habilidades académicas necesarias en las etapas posteriores de la primaria, especialmente en primer grado, donde aprenderá a leer y escribir. Por tanto, lo que ella logre desarrollar este año va a ser de gran importancia. 📚

The new school course started in Cuba (2023-2024) and it was also the first day of school and the beginning of a new period in María Claudia's education. This year my girl finished the infant circle and after the two months of holidays she has already started the preschool stage. Preschool is crucial for developing the academic skills needed in the following stages of primary school, especially in first grade, where she will learn to read and write. Therefore, what she manages to develop this year will be of great importance. 📚

Fue una mañana muy emocionante para mi niña, aunque el despertar no lo fue tanto. Después de dos meses de levantarse tarde, ahora tiene que adaptarse nuevamente a la disciplina y la rutina escolar. Sin embargo, se despertó con mucha ilusión por ponerse el nuevo uniforme escolar, volver a ver a sus amiguitos y conocer a su nueva maestra. Durante la semana anterior, su papá y yo le hemos estado hablando sobre las cosas nuevas que aprenderá, así que, a pesar del sueño, hoy se despertó con muchos deseos de comenzar la escuela.

En el primer día de curso siempre se realiza el acto de inauguración. Los padres que pudimos, nos quedamos para ver la actividad. Lo primero que hicieron los niños de conjunto con las maestras fue el acto de izar la bandera. Recuerdo cuando yo estaba en la escuela que para esto siempre escogían a los mejores alumnos, así que me sentí muy orgullosa cuando vi que habían seleccionado a mi niña junto con tres más para esta tarea. 🇨🇺

It was a very exciting morning for my little girl, although the awakening was not so much. After two months of waking up late, she now has to adapt to the discipline and routine of school again. However, she woke up looking forward to putting on her new school uniform, seeing her friends again and meeting her new teacher. For the past week, his dad and I have been talking to her about the new things he will learn, so despite his sleepiness, he woke up today looking forward to starting school.

On the first day of school there is always an opening ceremony. Those of us parents who could, stayed to watch the activity. The first thing the children did together with the teachers was the flag-raising ceremony. I remember when I was in school that they always chose the best students for this, so I was very proud when I saw that they had selected my girl along with three others for this task.

Después de una pequeña presentación sobre lo que será el curso y los nuevos maestros, nos dirigimos junto con los niños a la que va a ser su nueva aula, dónde les dieron el material de estudio, y la maestra nos habló sobre las novedades de este nuevo curso. Todo fue rápido porque los niños tenían que quedarse a empezar las actividades. Me gustó mucho lo bonita que tenían el aula, muy adornada y limpia.

Siempre es emocionante acompañar a nuestros hijos en cada etapa de sus vidas y me sentí muy feliz al ver que María Claudia estaba contenta y se sentía a gusto. Estoy segura que, a pesar de las dificultades y las carencias existentes, este año, todos juntos padres y maestros vamos a trabajar en conjunto por el bienestar de los niños. ❤️

After a short presentation about the course and the new teachers, we went with the children to their new classroom, where they were given the study material, and the teacher told us about the novelties of this new course. Everything went quickly because the children had to stay to start the activities. I really liked how nice the classroom was, very decorated and clean.

It is always exciting to accompany our children at every stage of their lives and I was very happy to see that Maria Claudia was happy and felt at ease. I am sure that, despite the difficulties and the existing shortages, this year, parents and teachers will work together for the well being of the children. ❤️
