Joonto's Top 5 Music Picks: Week #3 - 2022

Music is by far my favourite media. That's why I'm happy to invite you to the third episode of my new series about the top 5 music picks of the week, according to my weird taste! My taste is very wide and I think good. Expect a nice mix of classic and new hits, spiced up with less-known tracks.

The Marías – All I Really Want Is You

If you're looking for a brand new tune for 2022, which is hypnotic, silky, and sexy All I Really Want Is You is the way to go. I got caught up by everything in this song, from the music video to the bass line. I promise you that you will play this piece 10 times in a row! I just wonder if you will sleep outside the moon?

Ida Maria – My Shoes

From The Marias to one Maria. A great Maria from Norway! I can relate to these lyrics. How many times I ran away from me. How many times I wondered if am I so weak to shiver in cold. Maybe I am, but songs like this are my strength. I listen to them and it's like if Super Mario gets a 1 up mushroom!

St Vincent – Digital Witness

What's the point of even sleep? I can even stop sleeping. What's the point in anything? It's a good question, but stop sleeping is not the answer. I tried and after 48 hours it gets insane. I remember on a school trip to Barcelona I spent 76 hours without sleeping. I didn't know who I was anymore! Everything about St Vincent's music is insane, but that's why I love her! In this video it seems like Albert Einstein and David Bowie had a baby! She's the goat!

The Black Keys – The Weight of Love

I adore The Black Keys, because they bring you back to a rock which doesn't exist anymore. If they were active in the 1970s, they would be among the greatest duo in rock history. However, they live in the 2020s, so their fame is hindered by the current music industry which promotes hollow characters over good music. What we have left is just to go to a rock club, dance all night, even when we don't feel lonely...

Kavinsky – Goodbye feat. Sébastien Tellier

The new Kavinisky's work was released on 1st April 2022, but it wasn't an April's fool at all. It's a proper Kavinisky's craft, thus a tune which brings you to a melancholic urban night, driving your DeLorean across virtual reality roads, while you think how much you care about her. You want to be by her side, even though you know she's gonna say goodbye. And what do you do? You keep driving...
