If Bitcoin's speculative, what do you call a $200k college loan with no guarantee of a job?
The times have changed
Sure bitcoin is speculative, it's speculative in the same way that you speculate when you get into your car and drive to the store that you aren't going to get into a car accident.
It's a calculated speculation.
Sure it might all blow up and come crashing down on our heads, but it's well worth the risk.
After all, if you call bitcoin speculative, what do you call $200k in college loans without a guarantee of a job?

A few years ago that statement would have sounded asinine and crazy, but not anymore.
There are no jobs out there right now and it's tough to say for sure when there will be.
Heck remember Gordon Gecko, he told us we were a part of the NINJA generation......

Now with bitcoin at least there is an asset that some of these people can own.
The point is that the old rules no longer apply and if you are willing to risk $200k and 4 years of your life on something that may or many not pan out, perhaps bitcoin isn't quite as speculative as some seem to think.
And perhaps those out there ridiculing bitcoin investors and calling them degenerate gamblers (or worse), they should consider the alternatives.

The people desperately trying to dissuade others from bitcoin are the people that need a generation of people in 200k debt to serve them.

The idea of having a college debt of $200k sounds horrifying. I'd much rather invest in crypto than that sort of nonsense. Or perhaps I'd become a tradesman or get into programming where formal education plays a very small role.

I knew a couple people that actually had north of that. One was a surgeon and the other a special dentist. Both were making north of that per year, so I guess it is all relative if it works out for you.
