Striped Horse

Stabled In Cape Town

First time trying the Milk Stout from craft brewer with entertaining logo that captured the eye, jumped out of the fridge into my hand, OK cooler weather with rain passing through I will give this one the taste test.

Beer description on their site Striped Horse Milk Stout "Expertly brewed, expect rich, sweet and intense flavours. A full-bodied beer, with a silky texture and creamy mouthfeel. For those looking for things a little less ordinary and a lot more premium!"

IMG_2221.JPG

My taste tester: This beer is slightly sweeter, has silky texture, my brain found a licorice flavour my son did not, a pleasant beer to sip quietly.

Beer did not hold a foamy head for long, I found it creamy but slightly flat, my son found it too fizzy, now who is right, no clue, it really is up to an individuals taste, perhaps even mood on the day.

Well sized glass bottle 600ml with 6% alcohol volume, did not find it excessive in price either.

Health benefit of antioxidants carried in stout beers, perhaps make a habit of one every every so often is not such a bad idea.

Did You Know? 7th November is National Stout Day! Perhaps time to turn your eyes to a dark brew that has many health benefits as indicated in the link given here.

Hello dear friend @joanstewart good day
What an interesting beer, especially for the attributes you mention in this tasting.
To be honest, I was unaware that November 7th was National Stout Day.

Today is a great day to try a beer, we have prepared a bottle in the fridge to cool it well and to accompany us while we watch the soccer game in Argentina
Enjoy it a lot, happy weekend

I didn't know that there is a National Stout Day. Is it only celebrated in South Africa? UK?
I am an occasional beer drinker, but lately I not a taste of it, hehehe.
Have a nice day, @joanstewart! And enjoy the weekend ❤️

When I read the title I thought of photos from a safari you might have taken 😉
I haven't had a beer in years, but I still remember the taste and from your description I can imagine the taste of this beer 😋🍻

Local African breweries definitely taking on more traditional local names, perhaps meant to appeal to those who visit after dry hot days in the bush.

Have a great day, thanks for visiting !LUV

That makes sense - if I had been searching for wildlife in the bush for several days without success, I would love to at least be able to drink Striped Horse 😉 !LOLZ

You have a lovely Sunday too🌞

You would be sure to see either, one for photography, another purely enjoyment at campfire in the evening... Dreaming of next time out in the open bush away from city life 😇

Seeing the stout reminds me of my mother. My sister was thin and quite delicate when she was young. Mother bought some stout for her to drink. She said the heavy brew was good for her.

Your Mother was right apparently very healthy to have a little each day, old remedies frowned upon of late still work.
