Moon Clouds Beach

Superbly Sizzling Weather

What the weather does dictates to us what we do, during summer you watch the weather to gauge what it may do, don't trust weather apps they also get confused.

5240-Clouds.JPG

West looking over valley, sun going behind the clouds 17h45 settings 5/8 ISO-80 1-160 sec

Leading up the the next day watching signs in clouds normally a great indication when planning an outing.

Moon showing between clouds 18.30 yesterday evening f/8 ISO-200 1/160 sec looking East

5248-Clouds.JPG

Clouds using the same camera settings toward the South-East

We have experienced some high temperatures, then short reprieve in between when you head down to the beach to enjoy some quality time walking the dogs.

5263-BeachFlowers.JPG

Beach walk this morning 09h45 afforded stable 25 degrees C. Canon settings f/4 ISO-80 1/400 sec

Shit Sherlock you don't have to be a rocket scientist to know I don't enjoy heat and humidity, grab cooler days with both hands and get going. Oh we had some strange odd drops of water from the sky which actually cooled us off a bit

5266-Beach.JPG

Looking down the rippled sand to waters edge then sky f/8 ISO-800 1/320 sec

Best feathered friend was waiting when I got back to say good morning at 11h45 using f6.9 ISO-400 1/200 sec always one of the family arrive daily.

5278-FF.JPG

We did see the Yellow-billed kite between the trees on the beach front, river ever changing direction with current and wind, small sandbirds running to and fro, being at the end of a dog lead one really does not get to do much photography!

Happy Sunday we got out and enjoyed it! Moon, clouds, beach reminds me of rock, paper, scissors smile and enjoy your new week.

Thanks to #BeautifulSunday by @ace108 and #SublimeSunday by @c0ff33a sharing a place to enjoy Sunday at it's best.

Wow! I am jealous as you can walk on a beach while I was sitting locked in a charity meeting on a Sunday of all days.
Lovely shots Lady Joan and be careful of the heat.

Looks like this was a one day break, still have to get to middle of March before looking forward to seeing the extreme heat gone. Cannot believe the temperatures you have been enduring, with all the rain the humidity must around unless you have a good wind blow through!

Oh yes, we also stretched into the month of May last summer. But then again winter this year also lasted longer this year.
Now we are told that Friday will be 37, Saturday 40 and Sunday will be 41C.
Fun and hiding games. Thankfully the wind does blow else we will really be in an oven as the mountains were red hot late afternoon yesterday

Thankfully a cool day day today with much cloud and a smattering of rain on it's way to go and drench some place inland.
I really hope that the rain will end up at your place tomorrow.

Braaing or broiling much the same methinks. !LOLZ

Overcast a degree or two cooler with heat returning tomorrow, slight reprieve for a day. Hope some rain, never count on it though.

Have a good Wednesday.

Lucky for you as we are cooking again today and tomorrow things will gradually start getting worse.
No rain thus far expected for the next 2 weeks. Debilitating is all that I can say.

I hope that your Thursday will be good Lady Joan.

Sounds like a case of from the frying pan into the fire, Cape is going to sizzle especially after all the rains, possibly humidity will be up as well which you are not used to.

Hang in there.....

Very difficult to get around here and I took the grand total of 10 shots today with my camera.
Some cool days I take easily 300 to 400 shots.
Strangely the humidity doesn't bother me as the hot winds keep us clear.

News on TV showed the crowds all racing down to the beaches in the Cape, looked like New Year all over again. Stay safe and cool in your own home in preference to the maddening crowds.

Oh yes, it was worse than New Years day as there were hundreds of taxis parked all along the beach road.
No space for even a mouse to park and it took us all of 30 minutes in the dense traffic for a very short cruise.
It is more like stay safe and hot in our own house as the house has become an oven.

Nice break getting down, mostly locals arriving now with a couple of fisherman, a few dog walkers not too busy leaving some parts untouched. Thanks for visiting and have a great week.

Hello dear friend @joanstewart good afternoon
The heat is being extreme in many parts of the world, my country Argentina is the hottest land in the world
What beautiful shots you let us know, I appreciate that you share the configuration of the camera
Have a happy start to the week

Places in your region get excessively hot much like our Karroo or Northern Cape where winter rains fall and can exceed 40C in summer. Toward Mozambique another region that gets to high numbers in summer, for us being in the 30C's is bad enough with humidity when the feel factor indicates into the thirties.

Thanks for visiting and have a lovely new week, always appreciate your support and kindness.

You chose a very cool time to walk the beach @joanstewart. Do you have air conditioning for the really unbearable hot humid days?
When we first arrived at our coastal retirement destination all we needed at the height of summer were the fans. But then the summer became hotter and sleeping at night was difficult so we gave in and installed air con in the bedrooms. I always think that if one can get a good night sleep in a cool room I can handle the hot days.

Over the years we installed air conditioning units which are mainly used in the day. At night I cool rooms down before retiring, then use fans to sleep under with windows open.

First twenty years of coastal living it did not bother us as much, the last twenty it is noticeably hotter through summer.

Winter is glorious here, pity not all year round. 😉

I love living close to water, Joan. I am sure you do too. I think I take it for granted because it is always there and even though I love it, I forget to be grateful.

I hope the drops gave you a slight reprieve.

That bird is sweet! What brilliant colors! Keep cool and have a great week ahead!

One does tend to take the coast for granted living here, very noticeable with inland crowds arriving in holidays, people love the beach.

It was odd having these drops of water, not mist not rain just a wet drop every so often which made it very refreshing to walk in.

Birds are like flowers in the sky, all different in colour and cheerful to watch.

We got there and had some fine weather to walk....

Sorry rear view image...., same one I get being pulled along by Sarge (my late brothers brindle dog!) Both go different ways tying themselves in knots on their leads, wish they could run free like yesteryear.

Kingfisher can go grab bugs below I don't feed him, free portraits taken daily, he likes the camera clicking away and a quick hello!

Well have yourself a good day!

This time it will be shorter because my daughter needs a lift back to Lower Austria where she's studying. So I'll leave the office in the morning and drive with her 4 hours there and 4 hours back, maybe a little lunch in between. Well, she is driving and I am driving back home alone.

Oh yes, and he is posing so nicely 😀

Rain came and went after couple of hours sheer bliss, now back to living in hell!

Midday heat many birds will sit quietly in the tree enjoying shade and slight breeze coming up through the valley, always someone occupying the tree, kingfishers being most frequent visitor.
