A Nerd and His Plus One
Entering the online marketing arena, especially back in the day; was intimidating to say the least. Once the intimidation factor begins to wear you down a bit, it becomes overwhelming and as the years go by, you either get it or you don't and that doesn't necessarily mean success - whatever your goals.
My first time around, was daunting; but admittedly, I was my worst enemy.
Coming back to the online marketing space, I came with a whole different mindset; fortified by my health and fitness journey.
Another key factor to my coming back is knowing there were a few people who I actually learned a thing or two from and knew they were still around. Jon Olson, is one of those people. Truthfully, the only person I followed from my online marketing days; when I walked away from it.
The guy has been in the trenches through the good, the bad and the ugly; but stands by his messages. Never wavers.
I'm basically, all in on the CTP Universe. I'm upgraded in most of their programs and what they recommend, because shit just works for me. Outside of a recommended tool or two that I prefer elsewhere or just budgetary; I think I'm in solid footing. I still have to do better in finishing up some training modules, etc., but I'm always grinding to show my appreciation.
Now, I don't often make the leaderboards or I'm not anywhere near a whale; but I have some skin in the game. 😄
So, when they re-launched ListNerds; I really wanted to be a solid contributor. I know, I won't win the referral contest; but I'm in the top ten. I know, I won't be #1 on the ListNerds rich list, but I'm in the top five. I have 9 verified emails already and also 9 new downline sign-ups in 2022, so far...
I'm proud of those milestones above, because my current efforts are an extension of the last 2 years, since I came back to online marketing. I came in with a mission - NOT - to make the same gosh darn mistakes that just weigh a person down.
Momentum is a real thing, but you can't generate any, without keeping to some core things; like consistency by showing up daily, engaging, earning trust and a few other key attributes.
Here is the most important thing and this is something that Jon and those around him were always adamant about and that is the PlusOne mindset. If you get a chance to read it, give it a quick look; because it's actually simple and at the same time - difficult for many to stick to. Perhaps, it may break you out of a rut; if you are in one.
Of course, this ties in a bit with LISTNERDS.
I looked at my email marketing numbers this morning for the last 24 hours and didn't have any sign-ups to my newest list. No big deal. I've done well with it so far.
But, I did add another ListNerds member. That ONE person who signed up under me made my whole day. It's not about the referral contest, but because I sent out an email to one of my recent posts on HIVE about ListNerds to folks on my lists and it helped bring someone on.
Hopefully, they not only get the best out of being a ListNerds member; but get that itch to join HIVE and crush it.
Appreciate the shout out man!
The whole idea behind it, which is so important to me...Is that, we can 'beat' the competition by plus 1'ing everyday.
Who is the competition?
Ourselves!
If we're better tomorrow than we were today, and we focus on that every day...We win!!
Thanks for using ListNerds to let people know about this post :)
Thank you for providing the platforms @jongolson - it’s up to us to take action
Hi @jimmy.adames - I've found the idea of "skin in the game" a useful guideline ever since reading "Skin in the Game: Hidden Asymmetries in Daily Life," by Nassim Nicholas Taleb. Does this person have any skin in the game? is an excellent question to ask before you buy into something. You are indeed a good example of someone with "skin in the game."
Keep up the good work!
Oh yes, I got here via... Listnerds. Upvoted you there and here.

Thank you 🙏🏼 @hirohurl - enough to keep me humble and lucky to have folks like you who lead by example to follow.
The CTP philosophy in general and Plus 1 in particular make so much sense for me. Something that is doable for everyone and won't put you in the poor house. Everything they create is a tool that can be used by any one in any business.
Absolutely @lisamgentile1961 - we are blessed to be part of an awesome system.
Yes, we certainly are, @jimmy.adames! Enjoy your day.😀

Kirk slapping himself is hilarious. So glad to see you use that gif. Wanna know whats funny? I am sitting here on my couch with my +1 Success mug drinking coffee.
Now, that PlusOne mug and you are totally epic @threesteps 💪🏽🤓
I never really considered marketing as a job because I can't seem to bring myself to pitch something I wouldn't use or pay for. It's one the reasons why I choose to just be someone who wrote his blog on Hive and never really considered I would be marketing mails to push people to my own blog. Listnerds has definitely been a good addition to the ecosystem and maybe people will think differently about affiliate marketing after this.
Totally @jfang003 - I believe that ListNerds helps marketers, but everyone are marketers in a sense.
But, with a platform like ListNerds you can encourage folks to see your message in a more organic way.
As you can see by some of messages, there are those that haven’t learned the concept of engagement instead of outright pitching.
You might not be at the top but I am looking forward to seeing you there one day. So you know, I have only gotten one verified email and that was today.
I will get better as time passes and I just need to keep using the system and keep on keeping on
That is where it counts @hariton - keep at it, stay consistent, nothing happens if you do nothing.
You Got This! 🤓👊🏽
Thank You for Your Support 🙏🏼
PlusOne is a great resource for anyone having issues with patience, consistency and focus. And understanding that small steps compounded lead to impressive results in time.
It’s definitely a classic @gadrian
Hope your weekend rocks! 💪🏽🤓
Fantastic to see that you take the lessons from +1 and apply them to build momentum in Listbnerds Jimmy, keep it up and stay awesome.

Keep up the great work :)
Ahhh Yeahhh @zwhammer I’m a return the love 🤓🙏🏼 Thank You!
Great post Jimmy. I have a history in affiliate marketing and site ownership myself and being aligned with Jon Olson made a huge difference. You are correct, he speaks the same message today that he has for many years. 'Slow and steady', 'pull not push' and plus one every day.
@beststart
Thanks John!
Looking forward to see you crush it up in here 😎
Celebrating the small wins is something that I don't do enough of. You're a great ambassador for Hive, CTP and List Nerds and your enthusiasm is infectious.
If I have one criticism to make of List Nerds and Start Earning Today it is this. I don't have the capacity (as far as I can see anyway) to reach out to new referrals with a view to guiding them in the use of these programs.
Maybe it comes down to making my contact details more visible everywhere and inviting people to contact me after they sign up. Maybe I need to be running live streams (that would mean I'd have to comb my hair). I've probably gone right off topic, but that's what your posts do - they spark ideas all over the place.
@markhodge - get them juices flowin and the hair too 😁
Courage, it is a long journey.
ListNerds forever.
@oadissin 🤓👍🏽 thanks for swinging by.
