[Fan art] Light Healer and Chirpily! 💛🦜

I hope that everyone is having fun this weekend! 🥳

This fanart, I wanted to draw Light Healer and Chirpily together. 🦜 Chirpily is a cute name. It reminds me of Chippy, a popular corn chip! 😆

I wanted a pose that which Chirpily is resting on Light Healer's shoulder. As if the bird swiftly landed from the sky. I wanted a happy and wholesome moment for both characters.

Next, I used a solid pencil for the lineart. I used a heavier weight for the outer outline and then a lighter weight on the inner lines.

I am guessing Chirpily is a parrot. Such a colorful bird! 😁 I just copied the colors from the original art. I then put some soft shadows using airbursh. I tried using a soft orange for the white jacket and I think it works fine.

Next, is applying the cell shading using a solid pencil. Using a multiply mode, I clipped a layer to the base colors. Using the same brush, I added shines on the nose, eyes, and a hint of pink glow on the jacket.

Final Art

I used a default sky gradient from the tools. Using a special cloud brush, I randomly created different cloud sizes. I used a smudge brush just on the edges to make the clouds look softer. Those feathers are stock images of Clip Studio. I just edited the size and shape.
