Chica paleta, Oc's de Dulce [ESP / ENG]
Good morning people of hive, I've been wanting to create new characters that were related to each other and I thought it was a good idea to make candy, so here is the first character called Chu, the representation of a lollipop, one of my favorite candies.
Crear personajes basándose en objetos es un ejercicio muy común que tenia tiempo queriendo intentar, pero no quería solo hacer cosas al azar y quería practicar algo que se adaptara a mi estilo de dibujo, ya que aunque me gusta intentar diferentes estilos quiero poder manejarme bien en uno, los dulces me parecieron que encajaban muy bien para ese propósito. Lo primero que decidí humanizar fue una paleta o chupeta como le dicen acá en Venezuela, es por eso que decidí colocar le de nombre Chu al personaje.
Creating characters based on objects is a very common exercise that I had been wanting to try for a while, but I didn't want to just do random things and I wanted to practice something that would adapt to my drawing style, because although I like to try different styles I want to be able to handle myself well in one, candy seemed to me to fit very well for that purpose. The first thing I decided to humanize was a lollipop or chupeta as they say here in Venezuela, that's why I decided to name the character Chu.
Para el diseño trate de basarme tanto del dulce como del envoltorio, empezando desde la forma del cabello tome de referencia la parte de arriba de los envoltorios, el pantalón seria un pantalón tubo y los botones cuadrados para que asemejen a los de los palos de las paletas.
For the design I tried to base both the candy and the wrapper, starting from the shape of the hair I took as a reference the top of the wrappers, the pants would be a pair of tube pants and the square buttons to resemble those of the lollipop sticks.
Para el coloreado use el rojo y el azul intenso tanto de los caramelo como de los envoltorios, el pantalón blanco y el interior de la chaqueta de color blanco como el palo de la mayoría de paletas y el top junto con los botones del pantalón de color rosa a semejanza el chicle al interior de las paletas, para los zapatos solo junte la misma paleta de colores, pensé en agregar mas colores ya que aveces los envoltorios traen diferentes detalles en mas colores, pero ya tenia colores tan estridentes preferí no sobrecargar el dibujo.
For the coloring I used the red and the intense blue of both the candy and the wrappers, the white pants and the inside of the jacket in white like the stick of most of the lollipops and the top along with the buttons of the pants in pink like the gum inside the lollipops, for the shoes I only put together the same palette of colors, I thought of adding more colors since sometimes the wrappers bring different details in more colors, but I already had such strident colors I preferred not to overload the drawing.
Para el sombreado, no quería un color oscuro, así que use un color morado con opacidad y agregue en todos lugares donde considere necesario, difuminando el color para que tuviera mas profundidad el dibujo.
For the shading, I didn't want a dark color, so I used a purple color with opacity and added in all the places where I considered necessary, blurring the color to give more depth to the drawing.
Para las luces utilice color amarillo agregando iluminación y opacidad a la capa, con brillos fuertes en color blanco, cambie los tonos del delineado y agregue una capa extra con color rosa con opacidad, que aunque no se ve tanto hace una gran diferencia y así estuvo listo el personaje solo agregue un fondo con colores mas claros y así quedo mi ilustración, espero les guste tanto como a mi, y espero estar subiendo otros dulces pronto.
For the lights I used yellow color adding illumination and opacity to the layer, with strong shines in white color, I changed the tones of the outline and added an extra layer with pink color with opacity, that although it is not seen so much it makes a great difference and this way the character was ready, I only added a background with lighter colors and this is how my illustration was, I hope you like it as much as me, and I hope to be uploading other sweets soon.
