Conflict with '"His Assholiness' Prince Tommy'" this morning

20220708_083847.jpg
The shoes are mine, the rest is the mess left behind by His Majesty in his endless search for amusement

20220708_154238.jpg
I've bought him innumerable toys, and even a condo with a penthouse

20220622_112049.jpg
It is hard to believe he has about outgrown the bed on that mid level

20220624_102659.jpg
So I bought a larger bed and screwed it down to the penthouse.

20220709_101654.jpg
He still spends a lot of time curled up in that smaller bed thing, but he also likes his toys for company up top

20220709_123349.jpg
But it is all just not good enough, unless I am engaging him, he isn't happy, so

This morning was been one of turmoil between myself and His Royal Assholiness Prince Tommy.
Started off when, being bored that I wouldn't get up to entertain him (after I DID get up to give him some food) he hopped up on my bed and walked right up towards my head!

Devilcat path 1.jpg

This was a marvel, one I was very pleased with, except (wait for it) he didn't stop, but continued right on past my head, onto the side table, from there to the back of the recliner and onto the tall chest.

Devilcat path 2.jpg

In the process of that leap, he caused the small fan to fall to the floor, forcing me to get up and retrieve it.

Fan destination.jpg

I was not happy and fussed, fat lot of good that did.

in the penthouse.jpg

I've learned that if I make eye-to-eye contact with him, I better not be within paws reach or I will get swapped, claws out.
So a little while later, I'm back in bed and he is in his NEW bed in "the penthouse" washing himself.
I noticed that I could see him through the handle hole (from across the room mind you)

Devil Cat.jpg

His eyes dilated, and soon he was reaching through the handle hole as if he could reach me, but in the process, he got one of his claws hung on the OUTSIDE of the hole in the ribbon.
Crying pathetically (with me laughing at him) I got up and said (as I'm trying to extricate the offending claw and getting chewed up for my trouble) "🤣... YOU did this, it wasn't me!"

Methinks he was not amused. 😈

So a little while ago I determined that the 3 hrs 55 min of sleep I got before I was forced out of bed this morning was inadequate, and was going for a nap.
"Sir Tommy of Assholiness" had other ideas
There was a repeat performance of the walk past my head onto the chair back and knocking the fan to the floor again.
I was NOT AMUSED, and let him know.

Bug A salt weapon.jpg

I now have the "A Salt Rifle" in here primed and ready for the next time 🤪
(It shoots small amounts of salt, short distances, it can't hurt him unless I happened to get his eye)

Tommy... good boy! lol
Cats get so animated it gets to the point where is just remarkable, the amount of crazy predicaments they can create, and the resulting obstacle clutter. Endless entertainment.

I will admit, I am quite a bit more "active" now that he is in my life. I often lament that, but I wouldn't give him up for anything now.
Thanks for stopping by @nthtv

Tommy is an awesome cat. I have a two particular cats that similarly also like to go crazy - run up and over things at high speed, knock things over. They're fun to be around. They probably now think their name is "Hey!... Git down"

I was telling my friend Jacob in Discord DM this morning, about the doors he has and things I've set up for him
His Majesty Sir Tommy of Paininthebutt has his own private entrance, I busted out the old door in my bedroom door, and bought a new replacement for the exterior door for him

I had put up that accordion door to help control the temps in the different zones. The main AC system has no hope of keeping my room cool enough, so (like right now) I run the wall unit to bring down the temps back here. I cut that slot for him in the bottom, and have already had to enlarge it.

This is the old interior door that I simply broke out. He can run full steam from back here to the dining room where he often runs full steam into the wall there, since it is laminate flooring and his brakes don't work too good ha ha ha

Way up there you might make out a 2 ft step ladder, that is the wall he hits full speed

That is so funny. I can just see him now, energy thrusters to 11! I'm always amazed how cats can run like that. The two that are a year old here run silly. The senior cats, they just lay and watch. Enjoy it while it lasts 😀

Sir Tommy will chase balls and things I toss for him out in the yard, much like you normally think of with a dog. Now if I could just get him to bring them back to me ha ha.
This guy pants like a dog too, and not even when it's hot, just from a bit of exertion.
That has me worried a bit, but not enough to pay out the yang for heartworm testing.
My first cat lived almost 16 yrs, in the country/woods. He got Rabies shots, but that was it.
Where were the heartworms, the feline distemper and Leukemia back then?

Of all the cat toys spread throughout the house here, there is only one that all the cats think is special: the fuzzy red chili pepper. They'll "capture" it and walk around with it in their mouth meowing and talking up a storm. It's obviously the grand prize of cat toy captures.

Sounds like Tommy goes "all in" for the chase!

16 years for an outdoor cat is amazing. Living the good life in the country.

Mackie, like all our cats was indoor/outdoor as they wished. My point was that he had to have been exposed to everything that was out there and still lived a long and as far as I know, healthy life. He was definitely loved.
I mean, we had yard dogs that caught red mange and had to be put down (if I remember, that was picked up from the soil, transmitted by insects?)
I personally had to put down several dogs over my lifetime back home. 410 shotgun to the head does it every time. 😿
I never had to put down a cat back home, but I did kill one that was coming out of the woods fighting with our pets.

Over that past 20 years or so, we've adopted as many to be indoor as feasible, but always take care of any outdoor strays as well.
The number of outdoor cats never gets above 2 or 3 as there's an inevitable fight for territory. But we have one outdoor cat, Shadow, that lives on our side deck for like 10 years now I think.
The only orange tabby, Sunny, was my buddy. Orange tabbies are one of my favorite breeds - tons of character.
But I love 'em all, and have almost one of each breed it seems, from Shadow (the Black cat of course) to a Siamese, grey n white tux, black n white tux, all grey, and tortie currently. They all get along great.

That is great, although I don't know if I could take that many at once.
"His Majesty" seemed to be starting his trek up past my head again this morning (I was still trying to sleep and the lights were off, so I don't know for sure)
I yelled and swatted at him. So much for trying to sleep. I don't know why I bother setting my alarm for 6:30; he never lets me sleep that long.
Now to his credit, he HAS learned that I'm not up that early and will sit in his nest watching me until I make signs of movement ha ha ha.
The vet designated Sir Thomas of Butthole as an "American Shorthair"...orange in color. I would have called him a Tabby.

Good morn @jerrytsuseer

I'm sure Tommy is watching you sleep and thinking, "That's no cat nap.. too long.. c'mon, there's way too many objects that need rearranging around here."

Yes, I think on every vet paper I get, they denote DSH (domestic shorthair) for all the cats. Which leads me to ponder, "How many exotic cats, and what type come through this place? Do they treat lions and such?"

Tommy being orange, tabby or not, is enough to be a cool cat 😀
