"Banked Fires of Summer" (two new writings in 24 hrs!)

Banked fires of Summer.JPG

As Winter approaches, we think of the
Fires of Summer,
Whose embers now show as if banked,
In the leaves of the Fall.

It is but a cycle, the wheel of time turning,
So it need not be a Bummer.
Things go through cycles, so He should be thanked.
Otherwise life would stall.

Don't let the fires of your heart grow dim,
Let those embers glow.
You are a marvelous creation,
So let your love light show.

Winters chills follow Autumn's leaves, but
Spring will always come, and harvests arrive in sheaves.
