(ESP-ENG) The Night Agent | The formula still works - Season 3 Serie Review!
Hello friends, good vibes to all.

When it was announced that Luciane Buchanan wouldn't be in the third season, many began saying the series wouldn't be the same. It's interesting what a single person, in this case a very good actress, can do for a show. The Night Agent is one of Netflix's most important franchises today. The release of the third season and the confirmation of a fourth indicate that the ratings aren't as bad as predicted, and that the formula of this nighttime agent exposing corruption in the US government still works perfectly. The third season delves deeper into this corruption with new characters while maintaining the narrative thread of the previous seasons.
The epicenters of this new season are several, but all interconnected. The first is a somewhat murky network of financing and payments linked to various agents and individuals close to the U.S. government; the second is a terrorist attack in Venezuelan airspace (a plane is shot down) by a cell dedicated to terrorism; and the third is the somewhat dubious election of the current U.S. president. Initially, everything may seem jumbled, but in the end, the pieces will come together to reveal a conspiracy that has been unfolding for years. Throughout all seasons, the theme remains the same: a national security problem that this night-time agent (Gabriel Basso) must unravel.

If there's one thing this series has always done, it's make Peter need the help of colleagues or people he meets along the way; that seems to be the hook. As I mentioned before, it was Rose (Buchanan), and this time it's Isabel de León (Génesis Rodríguez), a journalist who introduces a significant plot twist related to characters who have appeared previously. The production team knew that viewers would miss Rose; she was, and still is, a very cool character, hence the decision to bring in Génesis, an actress who looks very similar to Luciane. I admit I'm making up this theory, but it doesn't seem far-fetched to me. The point is that Peter, along with Isabel and an informant, begins to unravel this whole conspiracy, which will quickly bring danger to them.
The underlying premise remains the same: a story brimming with intrigue, like pulling a thread and watching the knot unravel on its own. One thing that's good, or at least that I appreciate, is that everyone's role is always clear. We know who the corrupt ones are, who the puppet masters are, who the hitmen are, and who the good guys are. But there's another factor to consider: the plot attempts to soften the image of two characters who represent the greatest danger, portraying them as family men who care about their loved ones. This hasn't been seen before, so it's true that the intensity this season is lower; there are a couple of filler episodes.

Compared to past seasons, there are fewer action scenes, but the ones that are there are decent. I would have liked to see more of that and fewer personal storylines, but oh well. The acting is pretty average; no one's going to win an Emmy here. I think adding Genesis Rodriguez was a good move; she's the kind of female character this type of story needs. The way it ends definitely leaves the door open for a fourth season, which, as I mentioned, has already been confirmed. I don't know what story it will follow or if it will continue the same plot with the same characters; I think it will stick to the usual format. It has 10 episodes, which is unusual, and you can watch it on Netflix. Here's the trailer for this third season. I give it a 6.5/10. It could have been a bit more explosive, but I still recommend it; it's quite good.
¡Un abrazo a todos, nos vemos en la próxima!
Well folks, that's all for today. I hope you enjoyed it.
