(ESP-ENG) Crime 101 | Big cast, little substance - Movie Review!
Hello friends, good vibes to all.

We're used to thinking that when a film has a big cast, the story/plot will be spectacular—that would be the "logic"—but it's usually not like that. In this particular case, it's strange because Crime 101 is a film that many people are enjoying, and critics are giving it good scores, but when I do my own assessment, it's simple: I didn't see what everyone else is seeing. This new film is another one where heists are the focus; yes, another heist movie, but the problem isn't that, but rather that it seemed very simplistic to me. I didn't see any depth to the plot at any point. It's true that sometimes less is more, but in this case, the fact that it was "less" didn't convince me.
We have a thief named Mike (Chris Hemsworth), known for carrying out heists with absolute perfection. He never leaves a trace, never uses violence, and is extremely meticulous with his chosen targets. The common thread in all his crimes is that the locations are on Highway 101, a fact that has always piqued the interest of the police, who have been unable to even come close to solving these cases. This continues until a stubborn detective, considered by many to be a "washed-up" man, decides to focus on these cases: Lou Lubesnick (Mark Ruffalo). Everything changes when this thief receives information about a potential high-risk robbery and crosses paths with an insurance broker.

The key detail is that this runner (Halle Berry) becomes crucial because, on the one hand, she's certainly unhappy in her job, but crossing the legal line is a bit complicated, so she'll be a sort of balancing factor in what ultimately happens in the plot. In the end, it all boils down to Mike trying to do what he does best, with a threat hanging over him because he had a falling out with a former partner; the detective working practically alone because nobody takes him seriously, a very typical situation, to be honest; and this runner playing both sides. If you ask me, I'd say this film is a very average and generic police thriller where the good guy is looking for the bad guy. It's not a pure action movie, but it does have its chases, tense moments, intrigue, and some drama stemming from the decisions the characters make.
My problem with this movie is that it was more of the same; there was nothing that made it stand out in my eyes. The characters are extremely clichéd. The thief, a sort of lone wolf, trusts no one, never smiles, and is a complete robot until he meets a woman (Monica Barbaro) who manages to unlock his inner self, and he begins to soften a little. The detective, as I mentioned, no one believes in because supposedly his best days are behind him, but in the end, the guy is a genius thanks to his experience. The broker is the employee who ends up in the background after being sacrificed for the company, which makes her harbor a slight resentment. And finally, we have the assassin who's after the thief, the typical deranged and eccentric character (Barry Keoghan).

The movie isn't bad; it's not, but personally I was expecting something else, or at least fewer clichés from cinema, especially from the genre, which don't really add much. The acting is good; it's a top-notch cast, to be honest. It's not a boring film, but you can definitely guess how it's going to end. And that's the crux of it. My issue is with the story, which was just another run-of-the-mill tale. I give it a 6/10. It's almost two and a half hours long; that's another detail—a bit long for what it actually delivers. I'll leave the trailer here so you can check it out. If you've seen it, let me know what you think.
¡Un abrazo a todos, nos vemos en la próxima!
Well folks, that's all for today. I hope you enjoyed it.
¡Hugs to everyone, see you next time!
I thought this will be a masterpiece considering the cast involved. I will be watch it during the weekend. When I saw trailer late last year, I was eager to watch the movie, but let's see how it goes. Amazing review!

I thought the same thing, but at least for me, it wasn't. I think it's just another run-of-the-mill movie that's only saved by its good cast. Lots of clichés and a very predictable ending.
Thanks for the support! Cheers!!!
