My Dream Wedding Will Remain A Dream (LOH128)

Many years ago when I was still in love, I had my dream wedding too, just like any other woman. I dreamed to walk down the aisle, oath my wedding vows, and tie the knot with the loved of my life.

I was young back then, full of dreams and ambitions. I may be young but I was serious in all aspects. I may be innocent, but I wasn't ignorant about love and life. When the man of my life came, I thought he'll be the last and I oath to myself, he'll be my forever man. He changed my world, my point of view, my perspectives, and my life. Then my life just revolved around his world and I gave almost all of my love to him, saving a little portion for myself. I was even serious to marry him when the right time comes.

There were times when we both planned for our future family, and things we wanted to do. I dreamed about our wedding too. We were both serious, I thought.

Oftentimes I would imagine myself walking down the aisle in our simple and small boho wedding.

On both sides are rows of seats, exclusively for our immediate family members and closest friends. At the end of each row are beautiful flowers, mostly in colors white, yellow, purple, and pink. All were my favorite colors. At the end of the aisle is the simple altar with an arch overhead wrapped with white laces and beautiful flowers. White lights were wrapped around it too and around palm trees' trunks by the seaside that glows in the dark.

The white sand is our carpet with red petals of roses. The splashing sounds of the water are our music with a relaxing chilly sea breeze. From the distance, we could see the sun slowly settling below the horizon and creating beautiful silhouettes in the sky which makes our background colorful.

Once the song "A Thousand Miles" sing by a friend at the back, I would start walking down the aisle, excited to meet my soon-to-be-husband at the end of it. Both of our parents were quite emotional seeing us finally tying the knot after quite long years in relationships.

I would walk down the aisle wearing a simple boho white wedding gown with a floral headpiece while holding a bouquet of white roses.

After reciting the traditional wedding vows, both of us will be united as husband and wife.

A simple dawn boho beach wedding was my dream as I found it more romantic followed by a beach party at night. The honeymoon would be just in one of the villas on the beach.

Things were still perfect after our graduation and we both had our respective jobs. Although uncertain at the beginning due to having a strict father and responsibilities in our family, I was willing to face the consequences if he propose to me and we both plan to settle under one roof. Unfortunately, things went wayward and our fairy tale story ended in just one snap.

A few years after our sudden break-up, he found another love. In 2017, the year I went abroad, their simple beach wedding happened. We were still connected on FB so I was updated on his whereabouts, as well as new posts of his sisters. When I saw their wedding photos online, I was overwhelmed and felt mixed emotions; I was envious and happy at the same time. And I thought to myself, "It should have been me." It took time before I was able to move on from it and accepted the fact that he's already happy with someone else, and he's no longer mine.

The beach wedding I once dreamed of happened. However, I wasn't his bride, but another woman. The love of my life has been taken, and I have no plan of loving anyone else anymore. Thus, my dream wedding will remain a dream. I'll just spend the rest of my life loving myself, my family, and my real friends.

This is just one of those hurtful memories I actually wanted to bury in the past. But topics like this #LOH new prompt triggered those memories. So @ifarmgirl, this is my entry to your prompts. And I hope, there'll be no more like this again, lol.
