RE: Bluebells, Cockle Shells... Does Anybody Really Know?

It did seem like things were late, according to some photos I had from other years, yet I didn't remember the yellow bells and B-pears being spent before the rest of the blooming trees showed out. Maybe my memory is playing tricks on me .... or maybe this year is a little odder than before.

My Mom's camellias are full of buds and some wide open blooms. I'm thinking hers will be a round for a while. She had a vase of them on her table last night. Somehow I don't have a photo of them ! What is wrong with me ??? LOL..... but they were certainly beautiful..

They always are! Mine will probably last for another two or three weeks and you are right because they seem to last forever. Yellow bells and Bradford pear went with the three days of freezing for me. They didn't die out right but they didn't last and never even finished blooming. It has been the strangest year. My Bradford Pear lasts at least a month and it was only 10 days or so and then it went away.

What was kind of funny here, is that there is a row of B-Pears across the back of my yard. They seemed to bloom late and of course, once open, all these crazy windy days blew most of their white petals off immediately, causing it too look like it was snowing every day till they were quickly gone.... however.... The one younger tree at the road in my front yard, bloomed later than the ones in back and still has blooms on it ! What ?? I don't get it.

Crazy, isn't it? I have to agree. One of my cherry trees did the same, the late bloomer (bloomed) early and the early bloomer didn't bloom yet. What? The one that bloomed, the flowers froze and now they are a little dead looking, they didn't even get to snow.

All this crazy stuff has me worried that we have finally annoyed Mother Nature enough.

Maybe she just doesn't want to be viewed as a predictable woman.... or maybe it's dementia ! That made me kind of laugh to type that.
